I finally finished scrapping my holiday pictures from 2010! They always seem to take forever. The page up top will be the last page in my 2010 album, and it was inspired by a Shimelle prompt to use some bling on a layout. I also did this layout of shopping downtown:
It incorporated two sketch suggestions from Shimelle's class.
All this has put me in mind to think about the upcoming holidays. There's three things I'm thinking about in particular, and I'm interested in your responses. First, are you making Christmas cards? Second, are you making any holiday gifts? Third, are you taking any holiday on-line classes (Journal Your Christmas, December Daily, etc.)?
As for me, I'm planning to not over commit this season. I'll make a few handmade cards for some of my crafty friends. Most of the people on my Christmas list will get a family photo card. I'm probably going to make some hand-made gifts, but I haven't figured that out just yet. I am not planning on doing JYC or December Daily, but I am doing "The 12 Days of Christmas" photo class. I'm not sure if Tim Holtz is doing the 12 Tags of Christmas this year, but, even if he does, I'll probably pass. What about you?

Today I am grateful for: Those nights when all four of us are able to sit down together for dinner at the dinner table.

Yes, I will make my cards, they will be photocards with some sort of digital element. I am planning on making a couple of gifts too - something in the digital photography/template area as well ... as for DD or JYC, yes, I am going to make something this year but it will be more along the lines of DD and will stop at the 25th. For the past few years I have combined JYC with our holiday album, because we are on summer holidays at that time of the year, I've decided that is too much this year and will make a simple photobook .. I hope!
I'm going to try to make some cards, but I honestly don't know how much time I'll have. I have signed up for the Christmas photography class at Debbie Hodge's - I'm looking forward to that
I have been knitting and will make preserves so that everyone I am with on Christmas day receives something handmade
The only class or project I'm contemplating is the 12 days one on Big Picture
I don't make cards but we do give homemade food gifts. We did fudge last year, this year I think we are going to do "Muffins in a Jar" I just haven't decided which muffin recipe to use.
I'm doing a mix of Journal Your Christmas & December Daily. We don't do enough 'holiday' stuff in the month to make DD look Christmas-y enough for me, but I have done JYC enough that I am out of ideas for some of the prompts so I am hoping by combining the two & I can actually finish it this year. I did about 9 prompts last year & will be mixing those layouts in to the completed book as well.
I might do my usual and 'have a go' at Tim's 12 tags of Christmas this year- not sure about any others though
I am ashamed to say I won't be making cards. Or at least, at the moment I'm not planning to but ... never say never!
I'm not doing any classes this year, although I love checking out the blogs of people who are.
Like you, I will make a few cards...the only gifts I'll make are a couple of mini-albums( and they are not definates!)I'll be doing JYC, but only till Christmas Day
Alison xx
Most of my cards are made...and I'll be making a few hand made gifts as well.I think I'll do a sort of mix of DD and JYC this year....and have chosen the papers....but haven't got any further.
I'm doing the 12 Days of Christmas photography class too, Rinda, but that's all I'm signing up for. I do plan to make some Christmas cards, but I'm also planning to scale back on the crazy crafting and scurrying around that I normally do. Ha - I say that every year! Anyway, for whatever reason the holidays seem to have just shown up and I feel totally unprepared. I know I'll kick into gear after Thanksgiving. :o)
I always make my own Christmas cards. I've finished about half of them (all the same design), but need some more paper from the Paper Source which I'll purchase when I'm in California. They should be easy to finish up when I get back. I always make a few Christmas gifts. I have a couple of ideas, but haven't quite decided what or how. This will be my fifth year of JYC, and I take a very relaxed approach to it after all these years. I scrap on the days I have something new to say or record, and don't try to have a page for every day. I downloaded some great files for my Silhouette this year, so I'll be incorporating some die cuts as some of the embellishments.
I might try and make a few cards. Probably won't do JYC as having done it for several years have run of different ideas, but you never know.
I don't make cards and I don't normally make gifts, although I will be making some chutney this year as it has been requested! I wasn't going to do JYC, but changed my mind and have started preparing my pages - I will do it more as a diary (December Daily I suppose) but use Shimelle's prompts if they fit in, which is what I did last year. I love to look back on my past ones, so decided to do it again.
