Glue the Dragonfly

Two of the summer classes I'm taking started today: Jennifer's Projects that Wow and Kristin's Summer of Color. I'm still digesting all of Jennifer's wonderful inspiration, but I jumped into the color challenge to use Citron Green and Turquoise. I decided that for Summer of Color, I'm going to be creating postcards with acrylic paint, texture and summery quotes. I'll be posting my Week 1 Creation on Friday once it's done.
As I worked on my postcard, I used the extra paint to create a background.  In the spirit of Glue it Tuesday,I added a few embellishments to complete this simple collage. The journaling reads "I wanted to include a dragonfly on the scavenger hunt, but  was worried that it would be too hard." It feels really good to be creating again.
Why not create something and link up, here, with Glue it Tuesday at Artsyville?

I don't think I've ever seen a dragonfly, so that was a handy choice :) I do like this colour combination very much..perfect to lead us into summer

We have dragonflies, but only in very specific areas and they are not common - that really would have been a hunt!

Love the summery colour combo today.

ah whilst we have dragonflies in our pond (and damselflies) and I have dragonfly bits around the house too.

I like the colours here - so bright and cheerful :)

Gorgeous colours! I noticed a dragonfly in my conservatory just the other day, but it would have been really hard to get a photograph of it! We'd have had to think outside the box for that one:)

I voted for that color combination and can't wait to play with it! Your dragonfly collage is wonderful. We don't see many dragonflies around here.

That green reminds me of the first shade of spring green fresh and new and vibrant.
I love dragonflies, they always make me happy when they appear in the garden.
I like the hand written journaling.

I think you were right about the dragonfly....though we do very occasionally see one.We had an extremely large one fly in the car once....almost causing a major accident!!
I love the colour combination chosen this week...and have an idea in mind....and love your collage.

We have dragonflies down by the river. As our shop used to be a block from the river we used to have them flying in the shop and I would have to catch them when they landed on the window to help them get out. I love dragonflies, but now that we have closed I don't think I would have found one!

such summer-y colors when combined as you did! I don't even remember when I last saw a dragonfly but always feel fortunate when I do. So glad you are getting the chance to create.

I love the design and the colors! I think a dragonfly would have been easier in the American South than a windmill lol

The colors scream SUMMER to me, and I just love the composition. I've a fan of that dragonfly image as well.

Beautiful vivid color on this page! Yes, I think a dragonfly would have been difficult - I see them, but not sure I could capture a photo.

What beautiful colours! I have windchimes that have a dragonfly but that's probably as close as I could come. :)
