When I captured this couple in my viewfinder on a photo walk in Barcelona, I was transported back to thoughts of myself at the same age, enjoying lazy Sunday mornings in the summer. Paul and I lounging around in bed. Eating Noah's bagels slathered with cream cheese. Drinking cappuccino and enjoying the New York Times. And I remember thinking, "Could there be anything better in the whole world than being in love with your best friend?"

No, I don't think there is anything better!
A great shot Rinda, it really captures their relationship I think.
There is nothing better than being in love with your best friend. Monday we will be celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary and it seems like yesterday.
No, absolutely not! As you know we have been married 25 years this year and Hugh is still my best friend. Love your photo and thank you for letting us know that you have a best friend in Paul too :) (hope he is doing ok, thinking of him often) x
we will be celebrating 40 years next year and he is still my best friend!
Definitely not! Your photo reminded me of days spent like that - in parks not on benches, but me studying and Wookie sleeping after work.
Thanks for the reminder.
Hoping that you and Paul have many more lazy mornings with bagels and cream cheese!
Nothing better at all
sweet sweet story, I also believe my husband is my best friend as he knows so much about me but still puts up with me!!! Sending Paul lots of love and positive vibes for his next lot of chemo xxx
I agree. That picture made me laugh because it is effectively what the boy and me are like!
Just another day in Barcelona but what a meaningful shot. Pictures do sometimes speak a thousand words.
Hope Paul is recovering well.
What a great candid shot. I love how it has sparked off happy memories for you too.
Thanks for a wonderful reminder--of a simpler time and how nice it is to have an all-in-one best friend and mate.
Here's to many many more lazy Sunday mornings..
A lovely photo, a perfect little story. Thanks Rinda
A great shot Rinda. I hope you get to enjoy many more lazy Sunday mornings in the future. I'm quite looking forward to a time when my daughter no longer at 6.30am. I think somebody forgot to tell her she's a teenager now!
Nope, there's not. We've been together now 39 years as of last week, and a lazy Sunday morning together is still one of the best things! Love the photo!
A great shot,Rinda....such lovely memories it brought back for you.
I'm sure you are sustained by such a wonderful thought for the day [and for life!]. Thinking of you. :-)
I get whistful when I see a carefree couple like this now. I'm only three years into marriage and don't have kids yet - but yet life seems so busy!
definitely nothing compares! A great snapshot and so appropriate for the theme today :)
thoughts are with you and Paul :)
Young love is so sweet. Great shot Rinda.
Hm...can't think of anything better! This is a great photo and such a sweet sentiment. xo
Fab photo - young love with no responsibilities :D
You really captured a lovely moment there :) It's only been three years for us, but we still feel the same as we did when we first met, but stronger now that we have a baby :)
I often think back to those lazy Sunday mornings...so glad still to have the best friend, if not the Sunday mornings!
Alison xx
this picture tells a story, a story we all want to tell. and, no, i don't think there's anything better.
Lovely evocative shot Rinda, I hadn't heard of your troubles. Courage and love being sent from me and mine xx
Great photo and I love the story, precious!
Fabulous photo, Rinda!
No Rinda, there is nothing more wonderful x
