Scavenger Hunt August Linky: Those Last Few Pesky Items . . .

Welcome to the August Link for the 2014 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt! As we turn the page on the calendar and head into the last few weeks of summer and look towards the end of the Hunt (on September 23, 2014), my thoughts turn to the last few pesky items to be found.
I had taken a serviceable photo of my car horn but hadn't shared it yet because I wanted to find a better one. And I did! I love the big horn sheep I found mounted in the local ale house. So that's #11 A Horn. And that leaves me with just two more items to be found: a rural landscape and a juggler.  I have faith in my ability to take the landscape. I just need to grab my camera and go for a drive - maybe this weekend.
But the juggler will be much harder.  Am I worried? No. Because I know the Scavenger Hunt always has a little magic waiting for me. If you have any doubt, check out this story which goes with this photo from 2011
And, if all else fails, I found this wonderful bird house (alternate B) while hiking in Idyllwild:
So, now it's your turn. Show us what you've found by linking up a recent post below. And do try to visit a few of the other participants to see what they've found. There will be one more linky at the end of Summer (Sept. 23), which is a great opportunity to do a summary summery post!

I've been enjoying the many interpretations of horn

It's been a great list and I've thoroughly enjoyed looking for them all ... well, except for the almost elusive birds on a wire!
Thanks very much for organising another year!

It's been such fun - this challenge really adds to my enjoyment of days out, wondering if I'll find something else to tick off the list. Thank you so much for organising it again.

After publishing my summary yesterday, I remembered two more I found of "horns," but I'll save them for another day. As always, this was a lot of fun!

a few tricky ones left but I'm getting there.

And I've done it! I didn't think I would get the juggler, but Ben and his girlfriend came to my rescue, so I have the whole list, but not the subs! Thanks for organising this again - we (the family) have really enjoyed taking part again this year :)

I found the horn a hard one. Do i confess that i took a photo of an elephant for his horn only to be told by my young one elephants have tusks not horns. Point taken...i opted for a bird house!! We have enjoyed he hunt, thanks x

Ha! I had just this morning decided that I might have to use my car horn :)

Just as much fun this year again. A summer highlight.

The big horn sheep is such a great find! I have a few photos to share - hoping to get those posted in the next day or two & will stop back by to link up!

A very impressive set of horns. Mine are on a highland cow, which I'll share another day. Ticked lots off the list while on holiday last week.

Seriously, I would have never thought of a car horn! What a great interpretation!
For me the scavenger hunt is already so long ago since I found every item during my trip to Europe, but it's fun to still see it's going on, and all the different interpretations. I think you should easily find a rural landscape from where you live - enjoy that!

Another unexpected interpretation of horn - though I did say "doh! of course" when I saw it!

it's the juggler for me too Rinda...love the horns!

This is my first year and my first post. I'm so impressed with your photos. And of course, I'm also impressed with your take on things like the horn. Thank you for hosting this fun event. I will try to finish it on time.

This has been fun and I have enjoyed the search, though at times it was frustrating. I have everything but the welcome to a town or village. They just do not welcome you here!! I do though have a welcome down memory lane, but if you don't approve I have the two substitutes.

Thanks for running this event and now off to look at what other people have taken photos of. Diane

A horn, a juggler and a parade left for me to find. Honestly, I haven't seen one single parade! I might have to go for a parade of shops... I am hoping to make a post later this week. x

I'm a little late to the party as I've been out of town, but better late than never, eh? LOVE the photo of the unicycle and the sweet memories it conjures up!!! The only one I'm missing now is a parade but I do have the two alternative photos just in case a parade doesn't magically appear for me between now and September 23rd. :o)

Great going on the big horn sheep! The car horn is going to win out for me. Hoping to be able to get out of the house this month to get more.

Hello Rinda. Managed to get a few more this last month - but due to hubby's ill health I really doubt we will get them all this year - however - it's fun when we get the opportunity to go and hunt! So far this summer we have hardly been anywhere - but I'm hoping we will manage a couple of days out before the deadline in three weeks.
Take care. God bless.

That's a splendid horn, and very nicely captured ... I wish we'd kept the deer's antlers which used to sit over the top of the stairs in my grandparents' home!

Still struggling to find a mascot - never mind a few more weeks to keep looking.

I still have to get some done ... running very late this time. Will have a browse at some of the others' pages, for inspiration, you know. ;)
