A Special Bakery Trip

My home town has several wonderful, traditional bakeries.  As the summer winds down, I thought about just heading downtown to find item #9 for the 2014 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt - a bakery.
But in the spirit of the Scavenger Hunt - using it as an excuse good reason to take a day trip - I decided to seek out a Chinese bakery near my son's workplace. It's called Napoleon Super Bakery. Isn't that a great name!
There are all kinds of wonderful rolls and buns.
Customers select what they want and place them on to trays with tongs.
The bakery is best known for its egg tarts, which it keeps in the back and in a display case by the cash register.
I bought one of the wonderful egg tarts and a BBQ pork bun. Both for less than $2.00 total!
Now, I only have three items left to find - a rural landscape (easy to find; I just need to make the time for a camera date); a horn (I have a boring one, but want to find a better one); and a juggler. I do have one of the alternatives, but I'm still hoping to find the juggler.
How are you coming on the Hunt? Are you getting near the end?

You've reminded me to go out and find the rest of mine! I am waiting for our town's carnival parade next week (parade and juggler, maybe horn?):) Your purchases at the bakery sound yummy!

Hmmm, well, I have to say that I think I am going to find it quite difficult to get all the prompts this year - oh well, not to worry - it's all in the fun and spirit of things!

Great bakery shots by the way :)

I have a long way to go. A few things I'm sure I could find if the hunt went into October, but I'll be down to the wire (without birds on it) trying to get a few this year. This list was much harder for me!

I have A Horn, A Parade & A Juggler left to find...I might have to get creative with these but there's loads of time left :) I really love your urban street scenes, mine is totally boring in comparison! I have a bakery but am hoping to find a better one before the end.

Thanks so much for such a great meme Rinda.

Great looking bakery. We saw a similar one recently in Sydney.

Mmmh, makes me hungry! I am working on a post for this week and I am still in need of a few items on the list. I am ashamed to say that after almost three weeks in Europe I do not have a photo of a bakery!!! Really! Not because I didn't see any but because I never though about it being on the list! :P

Oh, your photos are making me want a donut (or two!) LOL Yes, that is a great name for a bakery!

I have five items to go on the hunt! I have one that I haven't posted yet, and a few finds that are my 2nd submission for some of the items that I'll be posting later this week if I get in there & get some photos processed soon! :>)

I'm over half done - but still seems a lot to go - since they are the harder ones for me. Love your bakery shots.

I do like a good bakery. I have a few photos left to track down and am finding a mascot rather tricky!

I've enjoyed all your 'finds' Rinda.....but I have to say that egg tarts are delish....and I LOVE pork buns.

Great bakery photos! I need to get the town sign - know where I am going to get that. The juggler is totally eluding me so I think I will end up with one of the subs which I can take in my garden! My sister gave me a birdhouse for my birthday. Will still be looking for that juggler right up to the end though!

Much to my surprise, and thanks to friends and family, I finished up the list last week. Saving the photos for the end of month link up. I found some better examples of a few I posted earlier. Always on the look-out!

What a quirky but fabulous bakery. Still on the hunt for quite a few here but hoping I can catch a few while I'm off the next couple of weeks.

I do love a good egg custard tart, with a sprinkling of nutmeg. My niece's boyfriend makes the best I've tried. Still a long way to go with the list. I'm not worried, there's a month or more left and we're off on our vacation soon.

Fun name and bakery indeed Rinda!
The Juggler is proving the most challenging in your list for me too and a couple of my photos are not quite as good as I would like but I am reminding myself to just have fun and that is exactly what I am doing.
Thank you very much!

I've not managed a good shot of a bakery - need to go back and try again. Found the juggler - in an unexpected place :) Need to go through the list and actually make a date to take some photos.

Wonderful photos Rinda, your scavenger hunt sounds brilliant, wish I could have joined in - too late now to catch up I think, but hope you will be doing it again next year as I would love to play! :o)

Your bakery photos are really fun, Rinda. I have the rural landscape and parade shots left to cross off my list. I'll get the rural shot next week, and if a parade doesn't manage to surprise me between now and the end of the hunt, I have both of the alternatives already covered. :o)

Mmmmm I used to love Chinese egg tarts - haven't had one in 30 years though!
Great shots - good luck with the juggler - that's the one still stumping me!

It looks so yummy Rinda. Sadly I did not get one photo in August - could have something to do with pretty well being inside the whole month. I don't hold much hope for September but hopefully I'll be able to get out more and get a few.

What a lovely-looking bakery, and so unusual (for here, anyway). You will be the first to finish, I think!

Mmm, a BBQ pork bun sounds scrumptious! I want to try making baking more interesting things! x
