GIT: Passport to Art (Passing on Wisdom)

The last few days I've been making really good progress on my Passport to Art altered book. Today, I'm sharing a page I did in response to the prompt for Day #7, which contained a quote that I really liked: "The wisdom acquired with the passage of time is a useless gift unless you share it." My page records the fact that we invited each of our Goddaughters to join our family on a summer trip to Europe (and some fun facts about the trips) . Gina went with us to Paris, Budapest and Venice; Maddie went with us to Ireland and London. Taking them along on these trips really forged a stronger bond between us and their presence definitely defined each of these trips. They were terrific additions. Have you ever invited a friend to join your family on a vacation?
As a reminder, on Wednesday, July 31, I'll be hosting a linky for people to check in about the 2013 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt! You can link up an old or a new post and can be anything related to the Hunt. Hope to see you tomorrow!

I like the art girls on each photo. This book is so fun to look at. Yes, we have invited people to join us for all or part of a vacation - we like hanging out with friends and family :)

Lovely page Rinda. Sounds like it worked really well to take your god daughters with you on your trip. We have had holidays with my parents once or twice and with a big group of friends years ago. But we prefer our own company now.

We travel with friends and enjoy it but I also love when it is just us. Love this layout, the girls are a great add.

Love that page, and I really loved hearing about you taking your God daughters along. I love the idea of having an extra person along for the travel, and I can only imagine how that added to the experience for all of you!

The most I've done in terms of inviting other is having Carrie bring friends when we'd take little road trips when she was younger. I know it made those trips more special for her!

We took a trip to Mexico my dad put together with several families. There was a total of six cars. Drove from Houston to Monterrey, Mexico and than to Guadalajara. It was before cell phones so each car had CB Radios. Beeaker Breaker "That was a lot of fun." Clear!

We've taken friends of our children on vacation with us, and it was always a great experience. We love to travel with our friends, as well. I love the way you've embellished these pages. This is a fabulous project!

Doing some catch up today - you've done a wonderful job on this altered journal. I pulled out an old atlas and want to do something similar, but just couldn't fit it in this summer! It's definitely a project I'll do at some point . . . and I know where to come if I need inspiration. Great pages!

Your God-daughters are very blessed to have someone who is truly part of their lives.

I am loving seeing this journal come together Rinda. Yes we have taken cousins on holidays with us. I used to love it and felt they made the holiday and family bond so much better. Definitely a good thing to do.

This book when you finish it is going to be a real treasure! How wonderful that you managed to take them both along with you on trips.
