I so loved playing in the Summer of Color challenge, sponsored by Twinkle, Twinkle that I decided to do an extra color combination. I settled on sky blue and red/orange (although my card looks more red and not very orange). Earlier this summer I found this quote from Edna St. Vincent Millay and finally created a card for which I thought it fit: "I know I am but summer to your heart, and not the full four seasons of the year."
Here are my other postcards from Summer of Color this year:
I've really enjoyed making these and having them all together as a set. My prior posts can be found at this link.
I'm posting this to Paint Party Friday and inviting anyone else who created a bonus card to join in the linkie below!
Speaking of linkies, I'll be hosting a linkie on July 31 for people who are participating in the 2013 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt.

A glowing collection of summery quotes and colour. I do love your peachy one especially. Glad it has been an enriching class.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series Rinda - I particularly like the first two cards and the one from last week, sage and sepia I think.
A really lovely selection of post cards,Rinda....I've enjoyed seeing them....and joining in this challenge myself.
I think the first one is my favourite.
I love that you continued on with the challenge! It's great seeing all your pieces together like that - Denthe did the same thing and it's inspired me to do the same on a future post! Your pieces are lovely!
loved the encore colour combo. Your cards look fabulous together
I too have really enjoyed seeing your series develop as you worked through the colours and added quotes. What a great class.
Oh I love seeing them all together!! Good for you doing a few extras!!
Hugs Giggles
yes it looks red but the colour mix is awesome together, I like it very much, well done
Oh what beautiful cards and a quote from Edna St Vincent Millay too - how perfect. I read one of her sonnets on an underground train billboard once and fell in love with it. "What lips my lips have touched, and where, and why, I have forgotten....." BJ
These are great cards Rinda! You've been busy. I enjoyed SOC as well. Nice to see you. The link below is my new blog. Take care and have a great weekend. Gloria

Love the chance for a bonus. I took a photograph yesterday and was thinking how it would have perfectly fit for the pink/grey week of summer of colour. In fact, that is how I labeled the photo when I uploaded it to Flickr. So this is a repeat of a colour, not a new color combo. But I am also going to continue with assorted color pairings too.
Lovely cards great to see them together.
I love your choice for the bonus week Rinda. Your card for this week is so pretty and they all look so beautiful together. I will post mine on Sunday if that's OK? I have been poorly today (fine now) and had a day away from the screen. Just calling in en route to bed.x
I really like all your post cards but really LOVE your blue and red one.
Beautiful cards and lucky recipients. The colour combinations work fantastically well.
This colour combination is my favourite. Perhaps because it is the one that says "summer" to me the most. Clear blue skies and heatwaves that sadly often turn to flames. Strange how I associate fire to both summer and winter!
Your ICADS are gorgeous - love the combination of art and quotes!
What a great set of cards. Loving all those summer colors and quotes.
Wonderful to see your cards and the quotes all together. I love your style!
Happy PPF
Ilona xx
I love to see those lovely postcards together! Wonderful and colorful work!
Rinda, I love the expansiveness of your journey on the cards and that you ventured beyond the challenge into your own exploration. The colors, and what you have done with them are brilliant. It is like a small story book (would be lovely in a book actually! ) HPPF Heartfully Yours, Samara
I love the cards you made and the quotes are so beautiful! I'm planning on making more two-coloured pieces but didn't get the chance yet ....
Another lovely one and it was nice seeing them all together. I especially like the second one, maybe it's the fact that it's turquoise.
Sorry I missed out on the July update, as you can see I'm way behind on my reading (and replying for that matter). I'm keeping my fingers crossed though that I'll be caught up real soon.
