LSNE Mid-Month Catch-up (1/2)

This September, I've been keeping up with Shimelle's class "Learn Something New Everyday." Everyday I read her prompt and think about it.  Some time during the day, I will usually come upon my lesson for the day, and then every few days I sit down and create a few more pages in my album. You can see my other LSNE posts by clicking on this link. I'll be sharing my most recent pages today and tomorrow.  Today starts with Lesson #9 "Right now I really miss being able to talk to my mom and dad." I'm not sure when or why this hit me, but  as I struggle with my current challenges, I wish they were still around for me to lean on.  Lesson #10 is a bit more hopeful: "Each day - a new beginning." Definitely something I've learned dealing with all Paul's health-related issues.
Lesson #11 is "Sometimes you do get a second chance," and you can read the story behind it at this post.  Lesson #12 is "No one understands my kids like I do, and no one could love them more." Just a reflection on helping the kids through the challenges of the first few weeks of the new school year.
The next two lessons reflect events of the day. Lesson #13 ("There's great beach glass at Cowell Ranch beach.") occurred on the day I went beach combing with friends. Lesson #14 ("You never know what the new school year will bring. Best to be flexible.") marks the realization that Clara would not be able to take P.E. this semester and will end up with a study hall instead.
I really do enjoy making the mini-collages for these pages. It's a fun, creative task that I can do in front of the T.V., and the process I have for keeping up with the class has worked for me. If you're doing the class, what's your process like? Do you create a page every day? Or do them in bunches?
More to come tomorrow!

Still enjoying seeing your retro pennants. One of the things I love about them is that by just using a few words, they give the powerful message of what's happening in your life right now. And they are cute!

You're doing such a good job in keeping up with LSND. I have not. At least I am writing in my notebook so I can complete layouts one of these days when life stops spinning so fast and I can play more.

Your mini pages are wonderful! I'm not creating this year, but I do have some more of my lessons ready to post tomorrow. I feel the same way about my grandma as you do about your parents - some days I just wish I could sit down & have a little talk with her again.

"Best to be flexible" - that's such a great lesson to keep in mind at the beginning of the year as we set up our new routines.

I understand that feeling of missing parents to lean on.

I've been creating in batches and by not pressurising myself to blog what I've done I have freed myself up to learning some more personal stuff

I couldn't have said it better than Irene. It's funny how I have been feeling the same way this week about my parents.

Your pennants are so gorgeous and such a fun way of approaching this project.

I have not gotten the chance to visit you lately and am just discovering your format for Shimelle's class. I love it! I love the great vintage feel and the lessons you learn are wonderfully varied. I am trying to keep up with writing down a lesson each day on a notepad but have not done anything past day 7 in my mini album... I am so busy with DT assignments that I don't know when I will have time to finish!

I love how you're recording the lessons - really cool. Intersting lessons, too

I love to read how you've interpreted the prompts. If I try to craft and watch TV at the same time, I end up having NO idea what was on the TV!

I love how your banners are coming out. I've been keeping up with LSNED in a less stressful way for me by just jotting the not of what I learned each day in my journal. I love September for this time of daily lesson reflection.

Thinking of you and your family.

Rinda they are all so lovely are you going to hang them somewhere? you have such a great storehouse of these old memorabilia type things how do you store them and find just what you are looking for?
I've been doing a page a day, but as the prompts have been arriving around midnight for the last week (since Shimelle's frustrating move) I've gone off prompt mostly.

I tend to make my pages daily, but if for some reason I haven't had chance I carry a notebook and jot down my lesson for later. I have been a bit lapse this year in getting them posted in the forum and blog, but I'll get there. This week so far though I haven't had chance to make up the pages so now I am behind :(

The collage effect on your pages does look really great, and it compliments your dainty handwriting. I like lesson number 12.
