Celebrate Life - A New Mini Album

For Shimelle's new class, Something from (almost) Nothing, I decided to follow the prompts and make a mini album with some of my favorite photos.  I'm taking the journaling from my blog posts about the pictures, so they're going together fast.  The cover (left, top) uses the first prompt and sketch about creating with metal.  The next two pages come from her lesson on using patterned paper scraps.  I especially like the one with the little paper flags.  I had the 6x6 album kit in my stash, and my goal is to create the whole album only using my stash.

Hey that was a good idea to use
those flags. I like that the papers
were neutral enough to go with the
photos

I love the banner effect you have used, it's so 'right' on those layouts.
The colours you are using work so well. This is going to be a great album!

I really love that banner/bunting you used along the top of the page with your [cute!] son. I've been seeing that done here and there and always like the look...I must try that on a layout soon...

Have a great weekend, Rinda! xo

I think this looks like it's going to be a powerful celebration of life! Like the others I love the banners; but I also noticed the metal bird. I like it very much.

The photo of your boy is one of my favourite photos I've seen this year - I'd use it too!
I'm hoping to find a little time to get a couple of pages done today as well, and like you I have a range of papers that I will not stray from - they have to be used!

Your journalling about your son and taking his picture is precious! I think I should do something similar about DD! Loving the way you have made the borders on both pages.
