I've been spending time in the chicken coop this week with my camera, and I've taken a few photographs that I find really interesting.
And make me aware they each have their own personalities.
And makes me wonder about what's in their souls.
The gifts of a photography practice never cease to amaze me.

I think you have the makings of a best-seller in here, Rinda! Any book that starts "I've been spending time in the chicken coop this week" is bound to get my attention :).
In this country, chickens and hen books sell like hot cakes so you'd be onto a winner. I love chickens, as a child my grandparents had chickens and a goat so we were well trained in animal husbandry and egg collection. My friend keeps alot of them too so if you ever have a question do get in touch,

You are winning me round to the chicken way of thinking. You really are.
That last picture really intrigues me!...is she lying down?!

I'm with Sian - yours look so nice, I'm sure they are interesting to watch. The photos are :)
I think anything done with care and observation is a blessing for us.
These are great! I know our chickens all have their own personalities, varying degrees on 'not very bright' but in different ways.:)
These are great personality shots!
These are such great shots, Rinda. I'm really excited for you guys to have these chickens, and it's fun that you have something new to photograph! That's one of the things I'm looking forward to with our upcoming house move - new stuff to shoot! ;o)
They look like they have such great personalities!
These are indeed lovely photos. My daughter has chickens and they do have characters, we used to keep them and would love to again one day.
I love the last photo! Yep, chickens have quite bit of personality :) We once had one that was stuck up and posh, with a mean streak if she wasn't impressed with how you cleaned out the coupe or if the food wasn't up to her standards.
What is the chick in the last picture doing?
Lovely photos - chickens are really hot now. Are they living in your backyard?
These are totally fun photos! And they should give you some great inspiration all year. I could really use a new and interesting subject!
I am really drawn to your chicken photos!
An elderly friend let me visit her "girls" up close and personal and I got such a thrill gathering warm eggs with her guidance...
it is a different world with so many layers!

Chooks are so amusing. Bet you're having lots of fun.
ahhh....greats photos Rinda x
I love these photos, especially the one with the chicken's head between the rungs of the ladder. Yup, it does make you wonder what's in their souls. Looks like you had a good day with these feathered friends.
Yes being friends with a camera gives me so much too. Chickens are just so funny! I had a visit to my friends bantams recently. I'll post the pictures.
I just love your chicken photos!
