Soaking It In (January's Simple Moment)

Saturday, January 12, 2013, 2:30 p.m.
The shop door swings open, accompanied by the tinkle of a bell and a blast of cold air. The combination rouse me from my near-slumber.  I look down at my feet, soaking in warm  bubbling water. The smiling Vietnamese woman lifts one out and gently scrubs the ball of my foot and then the outer contours of my heel. I glance over at Clara, sitting in the chair next to me, and observe a vivid shade of blue being applied to her toe nails. "Hey mom, if you push these buttons, the chair will vibrate!" I comply with her request and the chair springs to life. Rows of balls move up and down my spine, giving me a pleasant massage. The hum of the motor drowns out the background noise, and I drift off once again.

Ohhh, that sounds just glorious - both the back and foot massage and the lovely mother/daughter time :). Drifting off seems the only appropriate response! So glad to read your moment and thank-you for joining in ...

Ahhhh the best kind of simple moments ... pampering and girl time. I can never let myself drift off because I have sleep apnea and snore horribly lol

If that was me I'd be asleep by now.

Oh how lovely, the massage and the mother daughter moment. I love those chocolatey colours on the top row. I wonder which colour you choose?

Oooh - I love the bubbling spa, foot scrubs and pedicures I get from Wookie. Wonder if I should mention back massages at the same time...

Sounds gloriously fun - glad you and Clara got to have some time together doing something fun.

Pedicure places are the same here ... I had to do a double take when I saw the picture as it is EXACTLY the same where I go! A great moment Rinda - would like to go back for another myself right now!

Your photo and your words sound like something Carrie and I would have put up. I love this post, Rinda, and I'm glad to hear that you and Clara enjoyed a pedicure together. I always love those times with my girl C. xo

I'm feeling relaxed just thinking about it, so you have obviously done a brilliant job of conjuring up the scene!

What a wonderful time for you and your daughter - mine would have picked a bright shade, blue a definite possibility, as well.
