Look Up//Look Down #32
It's been a busy week and I've missed a few days of blogging, but I did want to pop in today with my weekly installment of look up//look down, the insightful photography meme started by Helena. I took these photographs on Sunday in the Stern Grove at Golden Gate Park, where we went to see a wonderful concert by Pink Martini and La Santa Cecilia. I looked up to see beautiful eucalyptus trees and down to see some of their colorful leaves. I'm really glad we went to the concert as it was on my summer fun to-do list. I only have one more week before I start school; two more weeks before Clara is back to school; and about a month before Henry is off to University. So, I guess I better get moving on the rest of my to-do list! How about you? Are you getting everything you want out of summer (or at least close)?
Just look at the colour of those leaves! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy five week break is now half way through, how did that happen? But I have got all my scavenger pictures now so that is brilliant!
Off to visit Denise (Den's Crafty Diary) this afternoon to catch up on all the news.
Make the most of having Henry close to home, that time will fly by.
I thought you were quiet this week - good to hear you are getting through some of your summer to-dos though!
ReplyDeletelove this pair - great contrast in colour and 'white space'
ReplyDeletemy summer list is coming along well - enjoying all the joys of the fringe festival at the moment
Great photos as ever! Is that a touch of Autumn/Fall already with the colour of those leaves? One of my fave DJs on BBC radio2 plays Pink Martini all the time! Glad you enjoyed the concert:) and enjoy the rest of your summer holiday
ReplyDeleteWoa! very tall trees!
ReplyDeleteWe are off on a school uniform buying trip later today, and the exam results are out tomorrow, so the start of the new year isn't far from our mind either
Love the photo up through the trees.
ReplyDeleteI haven't accomplished much on my summer list this year....too much sitting around with my knee....but we still have our vacation to come...so much to look forward to.
I'm looking forward to another two weeks off soon. Gorgeous trees - joining in with Sian on the woooo they are tall!
ReplyDeleteWith the wedding in JUne we planned for this to be a pretty laid back summer and I think we have accomplished that :) I'm looking forward to the first college football game in a few weeks. Ohhhh that month before Henry leaves will fly and be filled with so many conflicting emotions.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I've gotten a good bit of my summer list done - visit from the twins, vacation with Robbie's brother & family in Tennessee, lots of scrapping. However, I didn't get the house organizing done I had planned! Of course, I hadn't planned to have a bout of shingles either.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering why all the leaves that fall off our giant eucalyptus tree aren't pretty colors like yours! The only thing on my summer do-to list was make it through the heat and I think I'm about to do just that. It's still super hot here, but it's mid-August so there's cooler weather just around the corner!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting everything done, Rinda! Don't forget to take a little personal time out here and there! xo
Beautiful - both pictures, but I think I favor the "look down" one, those beautiful leaves.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter starts school tomorrow... it has been a good summer, and it always helps that in this part of the world summer isn't really over and the best season is yet to come.
I love the looking up photo. I am glad that you have gotten through some of the items on your list. Isn't it amazing how the time flies?
ReplyDeleteYes, I am ticking a few of my things for summer off. August is looking a busy month for me but all exciting things.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! We have 2 more weeks off school but the boys are looking forward to getting back to it.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours on those leaves....this has been a crazy, busy Summer for me.....I'm looking forward to a quieter few months ahead!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
I love the colour of those leaves Rinda! I'm just back from a holiday with my granddaughters. They really enjoyed a photo scavenger hunt last year so I did it again this time. I have a similar tree for a looking up photo - I love the angle from inside.
ReplyDeleteThe summer holidays pass too quickly and it won't be long before your son goes to Uni. Enjoy what time you have left together.
we are back at next in just under two weeks. It's flown by. Great photos x
ReplyDeleteI am trying to catch up here since I came back from vacation a few days ago. I love the silhouette of the trees and the colorful and perfect leaves on the muddy ground. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're getting some of your summer wants crossed off. School doesn't start here till a week today and university/college about a week after that, not that it affects me other than traffic as we're near both the Catholic and non-Catholic high schools in our area. We really didn't have anything on the summer list, guess we've been too busy planning for next year's big trip to New Zealand and Australia.
