Like spending time with family.
For the last few years, I've gotten tickets for the four of us to attend a San Francisco Giants game during opening weekend. I almost forgot this year, but I'm so glad I didn't. The team gave out Championship Rings to all attendees, and we each put ours on for this photo opportunity. When I look at this photograph, I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful that we were all able to attend . . . grateful that we have come through this rough time in our lives with our family intact and together, enjoying an annual tradition. Grateful that I have kept focused on what is paramount. And resolved to continue doing that for the rest of the year.

How are things going with your One Little Word?
A great picture. I love the thought behind the giving out of the rings..not sure we would get something like that here. It's kind of off the subject, I know, but when I visited the States on that exchange trip I can remember loving all the well thought out details we wouldn't have had at home - tshirts, notebooks, fundraising items..
ReplyDeleteI hope your word continues to inspire you for the rest of the year
A wonderful word! Love the idea of the rings and that you all have one to remember a great day out as a family. Hoping Paul continues to make good progress and you and Clara are enjoying, if that's the right word!, your training and prep.
ReplyDeleteI like this Rinda. it is not something we do here. My word is Learn and although I am not documenting it on a regular basis I find I have it right by me and it is keeping me focused on trying new things. I am so glad that your life is settled. It is a good feeling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique family photo! How fortunate you remembered to get the tickets in time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous tradition, Rinda! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tradition & a great photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat word, family tradition and photo! Glad you've come through, and I echo Sian in hoping that your word continues to inspire you throughout the year. My word is CREATE, and boy I've done plenty of that lately:)Rinda do you live far from SF? We are visiting in September. Email me if you can and I'll tell you more about our trip. pierce(at)tinyworld.co.uk
ReplyDeleteIt was such a good choice of words, and one that holds true during both good times and difficult times. Love the photo---hope it makes it to a scrapbook page.
ReplyDeleteThe power of that picture is....awesome! The age of the hands the positioning of the rings and everything tied into a superb composition.
ReplyDeleteIt brought a lump to my throat.
Your focus on what is important does you credit Rinda. So many would succumb to the pressures that you've overcome. Stay happy and well.
ReplyDeleteAnd how lovely to photograph the moment like this - so special to have everyone's hands together :).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great word for this year. I looked at your photo and had fun matching the hand to the person. Great photo. Go Giants!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic photo!
ReplyDeleteWell done on staying focused and I'm so glad that things are getting easier for you all. God Bless you. Mary
