PPF: Sketching Barcelona

I found sketching in Barcelona difficult because everything was so large and detailed. I realized that I'm better at sketching small, contained items. I was happy with the stylized map I created above.  I also used Ayala's 31 Heart Challenge as the idea to make some hearts:
These were based on some of the color palettes and general feeling I found in  Gaudi's Park Guell.  I have some other Gaudi-inspired pages to show next week.

    I really like your stylised map - I can only imagine how difficult it is to sketch on such a large scale!

    I loved Park Guell and especially the mosaics...I think your sketch captures the general feeling beautifully.

    It's fun to find those distinctions... what we like and don't like to do. I resonate with your small details - that's what I typically capture in my photography. Happy PPF! Can't wait to get your postcards. :)

    Yea! More Gaudi! He is one of my absolute favorites. Seeing his work in Barcelona was one of my favorite trips! I love how he influenced your art here!!

    I love your painting/interpretation of Barcelona! I see your challenge...from my experience there the architecture was large and ornate and full of detail!

    Glad you got to see Gaudi's work in person, it really has to be seen in person to be believed, doesn't it? You wonder how on earth he managed to convince some of his clients to let him build the things he did.
