Underwater Torso Trio
How's that for an odd title? I was working on two different challenges this morning (Something Completely Different's "of the sea" torso prompt and Studio L3's Compendium of Curiosity chipped enamel prompt), and I came up with this little trio which I like quite a bit! Each one starts with a Club Scrap stamp in cobalt blue archival ink and then has some other stamps layered on top. I'm particularly happy with the layering on the pirate version. The silver images are embossed with Ranger's Liquid Platinum, my all time favorite embossing powder, and the treasure chest is embossed with vintage photo distress powders. I used the chipped enamel technique on two round tags (with broken china and painted shutters) for the two mermaid tags and on a key (black) for the pirate tag. I hadn't played with embossing powders in a while, and it was a lot of fun! Kindof put me in the mood for a margarita. But then most things put me in the mood for a margarita! Yo ho ho!

Love all your torsos Maria, great enamel here. Annette x
How clever! Wherever did you get the old halfpenny charm from?
I've only ever tried embossing once, maybe it is time to give it another go, I love the texture it has given to these.
Now, do tell, is the M on the middle one for Maria or Margarita? ;-)
Fabulous torsos! Amazing all the details you add, which I love!
Love the Pirate one! We were married on an old schooner in Key West with an after party with a Pirate theme. So much fun!
Rinda, your Torso Trio is magnificent! Each one is wonderful on its own, but when you put them together, WOW! The stamping is fabulous, and the chipped enamel tags are perfect. Great job, as always!!!
Now that you mention it, a margarita does sound good... ;-)
This is super fantastic Rinda! Love those mermaids!
These are wonderful! I'll have to try and find the Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I just found a whole box of embossing powders when I moved my studio that I had totally forgotten about. I've been stuck on clear, white, gold & silver for quite a few years.
i love how different each torso is and yet they seem akin. you are so brave and creative (and efficient) for combining challenges the way you do!
WONDERFUL! Love your collection of creation!
Very creative! love what you did for all of your challenges.
What beautiful torso's loving the Mermaid's all wonderful details too
Thank you for playing along with the SCD team this week
Love Dawn xx
;-) Sounds good!
Love the one on the left.
It's a bit of a tongue twister as well as an intriguing title!
I think the one on the left might be my favourite too - although I think they are all cool. I was thinking of you last night when we caught a bit Of Pirates Of The Caribbean, you and your horizon quote.
I like the one on the left best as well...though they are all superb...and I always like things with a sea theme.
DS and partner have been told it's a girl...so they'll be pretty shocked if a boy arrives!!
Wonderful torso tags you have created. I love your mermaids and how you created 3 different scenes! You are very creative.
These are really special.
They all look fab :) Great colours...thanks for joining in with us at SCD...I'll join you for a margarita later! LOL
xoxo Sioux
yep... a margarita is sounding pretty good right about now !!!... tags are adorable... love love love the mermaids....
OH OH OH, all three of these are AMAZING!
Rinda, I'm always fascinated to see your art pieces. I love how you combine and layer stamped images, to create a totally individual and unique effect.
I still have the tags you send me, (waiting to go up on my "Art Wall" - which is nearer to happening now!!) and the fab card is on my studio wall already - I see it every day.
I think I like the one on the left best too. But it's quite hard to choose!
These are glorious. Thanks so much for joining us again at SCD.
Love them - and I do hope you rewarded yourself with a margarita! xx
These are very cool and unique! I love them.
