Anyway, Dina just announced that she's offering her introductory class - Art Journaling 101- beginning on March 22nd. Since I jumped into her courses mid-way and because I don't have any classes planned for March, I'm thinking of signing up for it. It comes with a $10 off coupon for a digi-art journal class to be offered in April. You can check out the announcement here. Anyone else tempted?

The Joy of Art Journaling
Get Well Soon (art journal page)
Finally had time to play in my art journal again. This one is a bit Frida Kahlo inspired (due to the color scheme of the top band and the topic - illness & recovery). It's about being grateful for finally being well and about how panicked I am with everything I need to do. I really like the finished product. More importantly, I loved making it! As I mentioned, I recently re-started art journaling through a class taught by Dina Wakley at Get it Scrapped. You can read about my journey into art journaling here and here. By the way, for those who asked, I used Strathmore spiral-bound Watercolor cold press 400 Series (140 lb.) pads for my current journals. One is 11"x15" and the other is 9"x12." I buy them at Michael's Craft store, either on sale or with a coupon. Since they're almost full, I just ordered some of these from Dick Blick.

This page is an interesting one Rinda - I like the contrasting elements you have used and how you have worked to convey your fog and panic ... maybe henpecked as well?
I totally love this page Rinda! When I first looked at the colors it reminded me of a morning sky in all its wonder. I'd love to take the Dina class, we'll see!
Love the page :-) And oh yes, I'm tempted!!
That's the class I did! I loved it..I would never have found out what gesso was without it. And her videos are so inspiring, she has such a lovely voice to listen to.
I love all the different elements in your art journal pages. The colors here are wonderful. I always think art journaling is way outside my box, but perhaps I will give it a try some day. I have too many things lined up for the next couple of months to take this class, but I'll be watching to see what you create.
An amazing page again,Rinda....if I didn't have 2 classes coming up,I might have done this one.
I love this piece, Rinda. I am thinking about taking a class soon. I haven't signed up for anything because I've been so busy with my niece's wedding projects but I'll be done with those next week and looking for something to do. Thanks for the tip on the class you'll be taking...
After seeing your art journals pages I am very tempted to take the class - off to think about it.
I so love looking at your journal pages! This one is so colourful. And it does seem hard that, once we recover from being ill, there is so much extra work to do, so we can "catch up" on what we missed!
I don't know about a class for me, just now. Trying to get to grips with a regular "work" routine here. Maybe a class is just another distraction technique... avoiding what I should really be doing. Maybe next time, once I have a routine going!
Enjoy your class.
beautiful page! I love the colors! The digital class sounds interesting to me but I don't think I can manage a regular one.
The colours are amazing on this page, and I love the butterfly lifting the tag away :)
