Well, hello there (Me on Monday)

It's been almost a month since the end of the Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt, and, like last year, I took a blog break. So, what have I been up to? Well, we brought this cute little kitten home from the kitten nursery (her name is Julie). The kitten nursery ended with us saving a record 230 kittens!
Went out to watch the lunar eclipse. Had my usual difficult time photographing the moon. And I'm still having camera-to-computer problems. I need to figure out how to get my photos from my camera to my computer. I'm thinking about diving in to lightroom, and I'm thinking about taking Jessica Sprague's class on it because I think she's very good at teaching this type of editing. I know that the inability to take photographs and share them has kept me away from my blog.
Work has been extraordinarily busy this semester, both my classes and my travel schedule. I did take an interesting work trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The amount of work has kept me away from my art desk and that has also kept me away from my blog.
I really want to get back to photography, making art and blogging. Hopefully I'll be able to fight through the various barriers and be back here more often.

Well, I'm enjoying Helena's comment above mine ... 'Julie is adorable' ... will have to check back in later to see what other people are saying! ;-)

A blog break can be just the thing, I'm sure yo're feeling rested and ready to potter about blogland once again.

In my recent challenge to leave 300 blog comments I visited *lots* of new blogs and - entirely coincidentally - came across a whole host of young, female, bloggers who were apologising for needing to blog less so they could concentrate on their studies. A notion which baffled me!! Why do they need to apologise??!! [I felt like an old old woman reading those blogs! It's another world!]

Welcome back to blogland Rinda! Nice to take a blog break from time to time. I agree, Julie is adorable - in fact, I think both Julies are adorable LOL! Good luck with Jessica's class. Love those mandalas!!
I'm just over half way through my blog comment challenge, and enjoying it very much.

Sounds like we are in a similar place - with life just keeping us away from blogging!

I love Lightroom, and probably have only touched the surface of what it can really do, but it's organization and basic editing are wonderful. It does require some instruction, though.

Nice to see you back Rinda.
Balance is definitely a tricky thing.
I have been feeling challenged in doing everything and being everywhere I would like to be more than ever it seems.
Your post is chock full of fun things.

Lovely to see you back. Adorable kitten! What a huge number of kittens to try and home.

Oh I see I have done by reading the other comments first I have stolen Helena's adjective! Cute!

So FUN to see you back in blogland! It does sound like you've been really busy. That photo of the kitty in the basket is absolutely precious!

It's been a while, but all the classes I've taken from Jessica Sprague have been excellent.

And what's not to like/love about Julie. Cats are the most amazing creatures. All of our cats have been rescues & we work with two specific cat rescues in our area. Does your rescue do a catch-spray/neuter-release program for the local ferals? This has been a big push in our area, so many cats, too few responsible owners. I like your Mandalas - adult colouring, as they are calling it now, is very relaxing, it helps me feel like an artist - I can't draw a straight line with a ruler! Hope you have a great week that allows some time for you to be at your craft table :)

So nice to see your name pop up on my blog reader! Julie looks so cute in that basket. How's she getting along with the rest of the 4 legged family members?
I like your mandelas - don't you find doing them nice and relaxing? Have a nice week.

Good to see you back Rinda. It is hard when work and technology gets in the way of other things we want to do. I've had problems with my PC lately, and I am overwhelmed by the number of photos I have downloaded without organising them into files. My son is encouraging me to save them onto Cloud so that they can be accessible on my laptop and mobile too. Up to now I have photo software on my PC so I save photos in different locations and that makes it is hard to manage. Trouble is, Cloud is so different to what I am used to and I will have to learn a new way of editing. It might save me time in the long run if I persevere.
What a lot of kittens you have helped rescue, it's a very worthwhile thing you are doing. And Julie is so cute!
I hope you get time for creating and find a solution to your camera to computer problems. It's frustrating any time, but even more when you are working long hours and so busy.

Nice to see you blogging again, Rinda, and hope you can find a solution to the camera/computer problem. You've probably tried all the obvious things ... My camera's memory card just slots into my laptop, but when I had a desktop, I had a lead which just seamlessly transferred them. Hoping there's a simple piece of technology which can help. And it is sooo difficult to keep up with blogging when you have lots of work demands and calls on your time. I'll keep an eye out for you!

oh what a sweet little kitten. Miss Gracie decide to declare her hatred of other cats today through the patio door as a stray came looking through the glass... Hiss and growl...big fat tall... I guess she is a one cat per household cat. :) It's funny because she likes dogs.
