Zoom In < Zoom Out #6: Extreme Weather
I'm mixing things up a little for this week's Zoom In < Zoom Out, hosted by Helena. First, I'm doing zoom out > zoom in. Second, I'm using photos from two different places, rather than two photos taken at the same time. But that's one of the things I love about this meme - it's so flexible. So, first, zooming out on a rainbow taken on Superbowl Sunday here at home. If you look carefully, you'll see it's actually a double rainbow! Second, zooming in on snow covered twigs, taking in Denver Colorado. It's hard to believe they were taken with 48 hours of each other!
beautiful contrast - I love capturing the weather
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of cool how many weather pairings there are this week. It's a collective snapshot of worldwide weather
ReplyDeleteSometimes in western New York you could get similar photos within a few days of each other in the same place! Gorgeous rainbow!
ReplyDeleteBoth are great photos but I would like to have #1 instead of #2 here. It's so doggone cold outside and I'd love a little sunshine to make it seem warmer.
ReplyDeleteReally cool take on this meme, Rinda. LOVE that double rainbow photo!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat contrast....love the snowy branches.
ReplyDeleteWow, i do love rainbows! And the depth in the b & w one is fab!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous pair, rainbows and snow...brilliant
ReplyDeleteYou have some great contrasts in weather here! And your rainbow is very clear - not easy to do.
ReplyDeleteWow that is a contrast. Love how you have used this zizo.
ReplyDeleteA lovely ZIZO - beautiful photos
ReplyDeleteTruly two extremes! Love both the shots--each has their own beauty.
ReplyDeletegreat shots...ZIZO to the extreme!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting idea for ZIZO shots! I love both of these, but the colours of the rainbow shot are just wonderful in the midst of a cold, snowy winter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a contrast and how clever to use colour photography for the rainbow and black and which for the snow it heightens the difference.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pairing!
ReplyDeleteA terrific pairing ... the rainbow shot is stunning!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous. And the contrast just makes it!
ReplyDeleteWow - fantastic rainbow photo!! I've seen lots of weather photos for zoom in/zoom out this week . . . we're expecting snow flurries later today, so I might try to capture some weather photos of my own.
ReplyDeletegreat contrast between the two photos.
ReplyDeleteThe zoom out is my personal favourite :)
We have been having some extreme weather here in the UK too :(
brilliant photos Rinda!
ReplyDeletevery yin and yang

Hi Rinda! What a colourful first photo - and what a huge contrast with the icy twigs. You have a beautiful home and the area round-about looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like the close-up of the twigs. We haven't really had any of that ice yet this winter - just lots and lots of rain! At least our area has had very little flooding, whereas the poor people in the south west of England have been under water since before Christmas!
Lovely photos and the rainbow(s) are great.
I love the contrast in your pictures! I remember once - a few years back - when we came back from some trip to Utah in the spring. We stopped in Death Valley where is was HOT and then went on to the Sierra Nevada where it was snowing. All in the same state, just a few hours apart from each other.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love about living in California.
Wondeful pictures Rinda, I've never managed to get a good photo of a rainbow :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
