Look Up//Look Down #9: Signs of Spring

My yard is starting to show the first signs of spring, and I decided to capture them for this week's edition of "Look Up//Look Down," a photography meme started by Helena.  The plum tree is always the first fruit tree to blossom, and it often loses most of them to hard rains. My apple and pear trees won't blossom for another month. When I look down, the surprise lillies are starting to blossom as well. I thought the color contrast between the pair was nice, and I liked the similar vertical orientation of the two.  As an added bonus, I took both of the photos while standing in the same spot.
There's another sign of spring around here, and that's baseball.  I couldn't help sharing a Look Up//Look Down pair from a recent afternoon at the yard.
I love the repeated orange and black and the way the two photos blend together, with a visual triangle being formed with the cougar log and helmets.
I hope it's okay to share more than one pair this week!  If you had to choose just one, which would it be? Are there signs of spring arriving where you live yet? Or fall for those down under?

Unfortunately there are no signs of autumn here yet - in fact, we have very hot weather which is a little surprising for this time of the year.
I quite like your last shot today, I like the human interaction and the colours - late afternoon sunlight is so hard to beat.

We're starting to get a few signs of Spring here....though no blossom yet...the daffs and day lilies are pushing through....buds on the clematis....and new little heads on the sedums.
Even some Spring like weather this week.

I'm torn as I like both sets - the nature ones are similar to what I'd take around here so for the contrast I like that you took the second set, something I'm unlikely to see/photograph.

We thought Spring had arrived here yesterday..but today we are freezing again. Maybe that was it! maybe yesterday is all the Spring we are going to have..

It's nice to see two totally different pairs..a good reminder that life is made up of many different parts

Jealous, jealous, jealous!!! I am SO sick of dreary skies and freezing temperatures. No sun in the forecast until Saturday.

I noticed a few signs of sring yeseterday here, too - the ornamental pear trees are blooming, so I'll take the camera out with me today!

How to choose? I always choose flowers because I love them but the shadows in the second pair are just gorgeous. Ill just sit on that fence then.

I love that you shared both of these sets, Rinda. The blossoms are gorgeous! Are they fragrant as well? Orange trees are starting to blossom in Arizona and they smell heavenly!

Great signs of Spring, Rinda :) There are very few here, sadly - and the temperatures definitely don't feel spring-like either!

PS Did I thank you for the lovely card and postcards you sent me? I have a nasty feeling I might not have done, sorry... They're now in my Project Life :)

2 great sets Rinda. As much as I love flowers I think the baseball ones really strike me this week (oops no pun intended). I'm hoping when we get home there might be some sign that spring actually arrives in a week.
