Look Up//Look Down #2

Last week, while on my Artist's Date (posted here), I thought it would be a good chance to complete my next entry in "Look Up//Look Down," inspired by Helena.  I looked up into the trees to capture the image above.  And then I looked down:
I hope you enjoy this glimpse into a January day in my part of coastal northern California.

  1. I really like this idea of looking up and down, it's such a perfect thing to do for collecting memories snapshots. The ground is dry where you are. It's all squashy mushy here after the snow melted.
    Have a great day, xx

  3. I love the pictures, and now I am wondering what specie of tree is it? Are they native trees? probably because America is so huge there are thousands of native trees.... so many questions caused by two pictures. Wonderful!

  4. Oh I love the colour & light in that 'Look Up' photo...such a contrast to us here in the UK at the moment...look up or down & it's all white!! :D

  5. Darn, we've raked up all the leaves under our trees. Just mud there now! It's nice and sunny today but COLD--12 degrees F right now. I may try to go for a walk anyway and bring my camera.

  6. Lovely pics, Rinda :) Whenever I think of California I remember the vivid blue sky and the beautiful warmth of August - I think I forget that you get other seasons too!!

  7. Love the colors of both pictures. For me, those fallen leaves look like cut-up pieces of ribbon. What a nice scenery for a good walk.

  8. I have friends who live up north in California - always astonished by the redwoods in their backyard. Fun to see your up & down photos and think of both you and them :)

  9. Hi Rinda,
Happy New Year to you and your family. Thank you for visiting my blog. I really like the depth of colour and richness in both photographs and the subject of looking up and down. It makes me want to pick up my camera and capture a moment. Andy

  12. Yes! I did enjoy it, even though I'm only catching up today. Still looks as good on a Friday, though :)
