My October Sketchbook (and more)

I've got a lot of artistic impulses rumbling around inside my brain this October, including doing some sketches on the "Cabinet of Curiosities" theme over at The Sketchbook Challenge.  And artwork for Dias de los Muertos.
This calaca named "Butterfly" was inspired by the Fall Fearless and Fly challenge at Artists in Blogland.  The first challenge called for warm colors and inventing the future.  I love the way that Dias de los Muertos connects our pasts with our future, so I'm posting to that challenge.
I've got a couple of other October projects on the way, focusing on Halloween and The Art of Remembering.   Here are some prayer cards and paper from Echo Park's  Chillingsworth collection which I will be using for those:
What's on your creative agenda this month? And please don't say Christmas stuff! LOL!
See you tomorrow for Storytelling Sunday  . . .

  8. LOL!! I don't 'do' Christmas stuff!! I've signed up for a class which starts on Monday, with Jessica Sprague called 'Silhouette - Just Add Colour' so that'll give me enough to think about through October!! I'm loving your wing & worm sketches & look forward to seeing what you create for the 'Art of Remembering' project too! 'See' you tomorrow over at Sians!! :D

  11. first I must unpack and put away all the stuff from camp! Then I plan to work on some Halloween and then Thanksgiving things. I picked up some cool embellishments for Halloween that I'm itching to use. I also just noticed the latest TJ newsletter is out, so I want to try some new techniques! Then... maybe start a little art journal because it's been so long since I've worked in one of those!
