It was a beautiful day in San Francisco:
I followed some bees:
Until I found their hive:
Which meant that I have completed the summertime photography scavenger hunt! All 21 items! What about you? Did you play along? How many did you find?
If you played along this summer, please add a comment below. Let me know how many you found and what category you competed in (photography only, snapshot- photograph with team member, or overachiever - both categories). If you played along at all, please leave a comment even if you didn't find all (or even most) of the items, as I'll be drawing a random winner from all contestants. In addition, there will be at least one winner in each of the other categories. The winner will be the person who found and photographed the most items on the list. In the case of a tie, I'll flip a coin. Also, if you get a chance, please leave a link to your favorite photograph from the scavenger hunt list (or email me your favorite, if you don't have a blog). I'll create and post a list, so everyone can take a look.
I think that's it! I'll leave this post up all weekend, so you have time to finish up your posting and leave me a comment. If you have any questions, email me at rinda1961@yahoo.com
And a huge thanks to everyone for making this such a success!
I participated in the photography category, by myself. I found and sent all 21 items to you. I have posted my fave pic on my blog at http://artic-blonde-creations.blogspot.com/2011/09/summertime-scavenger-hunt-finale.html
ReplyDeleteA huge thank you to you, Rinda for organizing this fun event :)
I played along though I didn't find all by any means and some I sort or cheated over (a woodlice nest for the beehive for instance) but I had fun none-the-less
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
Rinda, I am commenting, well, because I always do that anyway, but my scavenger hunt success was dismal to say the least! I'll get a post up on my blog later tonight and you can see my paltry efforts!
ReplyDeleteI got 19 of the 21 - taking just the photos.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite images were for the political protest http://helenascreativemaven.blogspot.com/2011/09/summer-photo-huntinstalment-11.html
thanks for organising the hunt
Jo did it - she got all 21 too! I was even there when she took some of the photos - my claim to fame!
ReplyDeleteWell done Rinda - this was a great idea and I have enjoyed following people's efforts, even though I didn't join in with the photos.
Love the bee-hive. We have one like this in the local museum - J. loves to see it, it's fascinating.
I have been playing along and really enjoying it! my favourite photo I took is this one of the graffiti

I had a great time: photography only--by myself. My two favorites (I couldn't choose) were the woman sketching and the wooden bridge. Both are in the same post here.
ReplyDeleteForgot to add I had just 19/21 though I'm still looking for the last two even though the hunt has officially ended.
ReplyDeleteAHHH!!! I can't believe you found the beehive!!! Well done, you! :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for putting this together, Rinda. It's been so much fun to see what everyone has come up with for their scavenger hunt items.
I ended up with 17 of the 21 items. I did label my posts and they can all be seen here.
As far as my favorite photo? I think it's this one - a party in my mailbox. I'll send you an email with the file.
Thanks again, Rinda. Have a lovely weekend! xo
PS: I participated in the photography portion. :o)
ReplyDeleteIt was just me...in the Photography section and I managed 20 of the items...though as you know, some of them were stretching it a bit! I had great fun though, and will post my fave pic later.
ReplyDeleteThanks again Rinda!
Alison xx
I'm an overachiever, me ;) I got 21/21 in the photography division and 20 or 21/21 in the snapshot division, depending on whether you let me get away with the roadside memorial....! My photos are spread over 3 posts, here: http://ispeakmelsh.blogspot.com/search/label/scavenger%20hunt I think my fave shot was the wooden bridge (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GB92AuEB7aA/TnJmK26PUOI/AAAAAAAAIA4/bHeYJS9kWUQ/s1600/bridge+2.JPG)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for putting this together, I've had a lot of fun with it! And that's its own reward, to be honest :)
And congrats on finding that beehive!! xx
I entered the photography division and managed 18 of the 21....will carry on looking though. You can find them all here.....and my favourite is no. 15 Rinda/graffiti,of course!

I didn't play along with this, but I have to say I've enjoyed seeing many posts with scavenger hunt photos. I'll be watching out to see if you organize it again sometime because it looked like lots of fun (& challenging!).
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to play along this year but have greatly enjoyed watching your great idea spead across the blogosphere! Hurrah on finally finding the last one!
ReplyDeleteMy entries are on my blog today -

I didn't get all 21 I'm afraid but I did my best and had a great time trying! Thanks so much for organising Rinda, I think we've all had a fun time being on the lookout for the things on the list. An annual event maybe? ....
as Lizzie says I actually by some miracle got 21/21 photos which was gr8 fun to do.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I havent really got a favourite although using the new app on my iphone made the forest one easier to get as i could join several pics together. the best find though was the graffitti art in my small city,

Hi Rinda,
ReplyDeleteI, We, participated in the Summer Scavenger Hunt and had a huge, terrific, blast doing it! Thank you for hosting this.
We participated in the photograph with team member category and we were able to get all 21 of the items. Whoo-hoo!
My favorite photo is The Mann Castle. http://mannhome.blogspot.com/2011/07/summer-photo-scavenger-hunt.html
Thanks again for hosting this.
Hi Rinda! I'm afraid I only managed to find 10 of the items listed but had lots of fun playing along and seeing what others were able to find :) I entered the photography portion and my favourite photo was the flag. I look forward to the next one!

I only managed 16. I kept meaning to take a photo of the beehives I pass on the road into town but always forgot. The unicycle, graffiti, sketching, & person dressed as a pirate eluded me as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Marie. I just came by to thank you for the lovely comment you left on my blog and to apologize for not being around. I missed the whole scavenger hunt thing.Sounds like a fun event..hugs..Donna..p.s I love your "legs" story.

ReplyDeletemy husband, nephews, step-daughter and i worked as a team. we only found 9 (legit ones - we fudged on a few!) and some of those were not great photos but we had so much fun looking! it really gave us an activity to do together on our road trip in july - the kids were so excited when we found something on the list. thanks, rinda, for coming up with this idea and sharing it.
ReplyDeleteYou found bees! Success! But I must admit, since bees are the thing I'm most scared of in this world, those pictures made me shutter a bit!
ReplyDeleteI found 13/21 and had a great time. Thanks for hosting this. My favourite photo is
