I actually had time to scrapbook this weekend, so I did a few of the challenges sponsored by Shimelle on her blog. The first one called for a patterned paper background, and I based my layout on her sketch. The paper is from the "Dude" collection at Paper Loft.
I used the challenge about placing a border between pictures to do the companion page:
And, here's my last layout:
The challenge was to use a visual triangle. It's a little hard to see in the layout, but I used square copper bling embellies in the upper left, upper right and bottom center of the layout. The paper is from Club Scrap's adobe collection.
Did you do anything for National Scrapbook Day?

I love the family shots and little Gypsy looks to have quite a personality - the top page is particularly striking and a great use of patterned paper for a background, it isn't overpowering but has enough interest and texture :-)
wow..gorgeous card!! This family photo is beautiful and lovely. Those cards layouts are looking awesome. The colors you've chosen for this cute card are really fabulous. Thanks for this great post.
Great pages,Rinda. I love that middle page of Gypsy....and the colours are just perfect.
I love your patterned paper background Rinda, it's a favourite way of mine to get started.
That little dog is such a cutie, it's good to see her appearing on your pages.
what visually pleasing pages! i love how you take little details and put them together in a way that looks like they've always belonged with each other.
Great layouts...I especially love your doggie pages!
I like your layouts very much and I especially love the dog photos - so cute. I haven't scrapbooked forever... but if I do I work on my "From coast to coast" album about our road trip to the East Coast back in 2007. One day it will be finished...
