Paul and I went to Japan for two weeks (one week based in Tokyo and one week based in Kyoto). It was amazing. I will no doubt blog more about the trip over the next few months, but I wanted to share one of my favorite photos, taken in a temple garden in Kyoto.
Have you been anywhere lately?
Got any trips planned for the summer?
Beautiful picture it looks like a very serene spot. My son moved to Japan in 2007 and he loves it. I'm working on a scrapbook page using a picture of his Japanese wedding.

I've never been to the Far East, but know I would love it. We're on the road a lot, but this summer we're expecting to be home until August when we're joining our son, daughter-in-law, and their family in Nantucket for a week. I've never been there and am really looking forward to time with my (then) three granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteHello Rinda...long time no see :-)
ReplyDeleteJapan sounds like such a wonderful and magical trip.
Here from the east coast it seems extra far away.
This photo is very serene just like I would imagine Japan to be in addition to the wonderful cartoony quirky side of Japanese city life.
My husband and I fulfilled a dream traveling to France for 18 days.
Each moment was a treasure.
I have just printed out your Summer Scavenger Hunt list.
Happy June.

Your photo is one that stirs calm & rest within me. What an amazing trip - looking forward to seeing more photos.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved seeing your photos of Japan on IG. I've never been but I'm sure it's a photographer's delight, almost to the point of being spoilt for choice probably!
ReplyDeleteWe're going To Berlin for a few days, so I'm imagining darkly urban pictures there
I had 'followed' your trip via Instagram and it certainly looks an amazing experience. I'm sure it was a photographer's dream destination. This picture sums up the tranquility that I associate with Japan.
ReplyDeleteNow Japan is a trip! I love exotic places! I am enjoying your post! I took a trip this past weekend and found many items on the scavenger hunt list:

ReplyDeleteI'm trying to catch up on the last two weeks of blogging - come to yours and find, wait, what? Japan!? Must have been really interesting for you. Nothing quite so exotic in my summer plans but I am going to London and Edinburgh! :)
