On the last day of summer, 2015, I stopped by the store on my way to work and bought myself a bouquet of flowers;
I let go of trying to find item #13 A Merry-go-round or Carousel, resolved to revel in the joy of finding the other 20 items on the list; and
I decided not to photograph the rocking chair in my garage as a substitute.
One the last day of summer, 2015, I hand wrote a sign, propped it up in front of my bouquet of flowers and took a selfie in my office;
I looked back through all my scavenger hunt posts; and
I smiled at the memories I created this summer hunting for flags and bridges and tents and turtles.
On the last day of summer, 2015, I created this linky for people to post their final thoughts on the scavenger hunt (or to repost a favorite find or their previously posted final round-up);
I went to bed with the anticipation of waking up in the morning and looking to see what others have found; and
I began to think about the list for next summer's hunt . . .
******************************************************************
Please join in the final linky below (even if you finished back in August . . . or July) and please go visit your other hunters. And thank-you for participating in this year's hunt!
What a lovely way to round up Rinda.
ReplyDeleteOn the last day of summer I ... posted a collage of all 21 finds and reflected on just how much they represented not only *this particular* summer, but summer in general.
Then I woke today to a comment on that post that was so friendly and warm it didn't matter that it's the first day of autumn!
Thanks - as ever - for keeping us both focussed *and* wandering throughout the season. Here's to 2016!! xx
I'm in. I loved it. I managed the merry-go-round but the three flags defeated me so I had rocking chairs instead
ReplyDeleteYou're already thinking about next year? GREAT! So are we! I absolutely love this challenge Rinda and really appreciate the time and trouble you put into organising it. It really adds to the summer holidays and I love the way it makes you more observant when you go out.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a fab list - I wonder what you'll think of for the next one ...
Fabulous scavenger hunt this year..as usual!! Glad you are thinking about next year already. I look forward to checking all the blog posts in the linky. Thanks Rinda!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Thank You Thank You Rinda for organizing and implementing the SPSH. It certainly encourages me to get out and about. I think I have already said, this is the first year I have found everything in both the primary list and substitute list. Looking forward to next year's hunt.
ReplyDeleteThis was my second year to participate now that I have a decent camera. I was so happy I finally got all the entries and the three alternates, and of course, I was so impressed with your final entry. What a great way to combine prompts.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for being such a remarkable host, and for putting on this event every year. I look forward to next year, and will join again, even if I don't get them all. Your hunt always keeps me busy in the summer and gives me a way to explore my city and surrounding areas. Thanks again.
So glad to hear you're thinking of doing this next year. It really is one of my favorite activities every summer. I'm adding a link to my SmugMug album where all my photos are housed. I think I'll try to do something with them so they can be included in my September Project Life pages.
ReplyDeleteAs always, a lot of fun! Just what summer was made for. My July and August linked posts include all my finds. Is it wrong to be looking forward to next year already? Thank you
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting this again and so pleased to think that you are already thinking about next year! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this Rinda - I've been "off" the internet for most of this summer, but posting my finds and reading some lovely comments has made me want to reconnect with bloggy friends again. Hoping to have got back "into" it all by next year!
ReplyDeleteLove this post Rinda! I'll be linking up after the weekend as off to Spain in th morning. Beautiful sunflowers xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not just sad that summer is over, I'm sad that the hunt is over too, Rinda. I have enjoyed scouting for the items on the list and so, surprisingly, has my husband who happily drove me around to various locations. In fact, it was he who spotted the perfect doorknob! So a very big thank you to you for organising and hosting the hunt, it's been so much fun. Looking forward to next summer now :) Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteWell I really fizzled out on my search over the past few weeks - so much going on with our current house move. I did enjoy capturing items during the first part of the summer, and I'll enjoy following the links to the blogs who kept at it. Already looking forward to next year and hoping things won't be so hectic then. And I just love your selfie and those pretty sunflowers!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those sunflowers - it's also my first pick when I treat myself to a bouquet.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed this so much- don't why I didn't link any before - probably away too much to think!!! I love your own bouquet! Thank you so much for hosting this- I look forward to next year when I will get organised better i hope! Chris

ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting the hunt :) This is my 2nd year and I almost got them all but a few I just didn't have time to get and should have not waited :) I had a blast playing along and have lots of photos from the summer that I would gave not considered taking but they are part of my summer so looking forward to putting this scrapbook page together :) With a new phone I expect to make the whole list next year and will be looking forward to seeing what you all come up with :)
ReplyDeleteWell done - and that's a lovely photo of you :). It has been such fun and thank-you for all the effort you have put into this.
ReplyDeleteThis was great fun - I'm looking forward to seeing what the others have found - and also looking forward to next summer
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. Thank you so much for organising once again, Rinda. It's been an epic fail for me this year, but I've enjoyed it none the less.

ReplyDeleteI never did get my last 3 photos but we had such fun trying! Thanks for hosting it again this year!
ReplyDeleteOh Rinda! This was so much fun and I'm looking forward to 2016. It was crazy that I found myself finding 2014 items too and saying out loud, "Oh, look! Birds on a wire . . .!" Thanks again for a summertime of making memories with photos!
