Me on Monday: Summertime Music Traditions and Where did summer go?

Happy Monday!
Waving hi and linking up with Sian at From High in the Sky to report on the kind of weekend I enjoyed. What kind of a weekend was it? It was a:
-going to Stern Grove with friends for our annual summertime music picnic; enjoying some funk (Morris Day and the Time), a little wine, fun conversation and relaxation kind of weekend;
-wondering where the heck summer went kind of weekend; in fact, wondering how a whole week went by since I posted the July linky for the Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt;
-the kids both going off to a different music festival in Golden Gate Park and loving listening to their stories of "Outside Lands" when they came home kind of weekend;
-a "uh oh, Clara registers for school on Thursday and starts school in less than two weeks!" kind of weekend.
How was your weekend?

  1. Looks like a fun weekend. Summer is certainly slipping through our fingers too. We don't go back to school quite as early here (although in Scotland they do) and my girl has to register for college on the 27th, once she has her exam results.

  2. It was a fast weekend! Drove down to Reedley on Friday afternoon to spend time with the new granddaughter! She's changed a lot in the month since I was there last. Then it was home Sunday to get ready for the work week, and notice that schools around me start next Monday, the traffic will be worse!

  4. That's my kind of weekend Rinda... Good music, good company and good wine! There's been a bit of back to school organising here too over the weekend and definitely wondering where summer is or when it was. I must have blinked!

  6. Well, I know exactly where summer has gone! Fortunately, here there are still several weeks of good weather to enjoy. Good music, friends, and wine . . . can't get much better than that! We had two of the three so it was quite lovely here as well.

  7. It sounds like a great weekend. We have exam results to wait for here before back to school. And the other one is heading to Scotland to move into his new flat before coming back again for a couple of weeks before term starts.

    I hope the rest of the week is a good one

  8. We broke up later than you so it's only fair we go back later too! I'm back at work on 1 September - it's coming round way too fast.
    I can happily say that the summer has gone by in a whirl of Scavenger Hunt photos - it's been fun tracking them down! Only one to go ...

  9. Ah yes the summer slipping away - I have cries of NOOOOOOO and I am rushing to use the "A" word yet. I am going with the Dairy Queen's commercial about hanging on to summer. Hoping your week has been kind to you :)

    PS - excellent SPSH this year - for once I have found everything on the primary list - that makes for a good summer!!

  10. It sounds like a nice weekend, with a bit of mix of everything. Lucky Clara that she still has almost two weeks of summer break. My daughter starts tomorrow...
    Our weekend was busy with our garden party which was a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing my friends and neighbor and just having a relaxing time with them.
