When I first put Item #18 A Waterfall on the list for the 2014 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt, this is what I think I had in mind. . . a natural waterfall. I found this one on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona where my brother and sister work (and where Clara is considering going to school). But, during the hunt I have seen many waterfalls like this one:
It's a man made one that I found while playing tourist near Universal Studios in Hollywood, California. It definitely says "water fall" to me, as well. Although some might call it a water fountain. What do you think a waterfall means? What kind did you capture?
Love how you've captured the running water in the second photo!
ReplyDeleteI reckon they're both waterfalls. I actually like the photo of the man-made one best.
ReplyDeleteI would consider it a waterfall although I have been thinking along the natural lines in my hunt. If I get desperate by mid September you'll see a manmade one from me ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't found one yet.....I prefer the natural one....but both definately count.
ReplyDeleteI've actually captured quite a few natural waterfalls this summer & a fountain, too.
ReplyDeleteBoth lovely, and both count in my view :). Though I have a fondness for the natural variety myself. Looks like a lovely setting - did Clara like it?
ReplyDeleteI agree that a natural waterfall is beautiful but equally you have really captured the water at Universal Studios. I was tempted to use one of my photos at Ground Zero but went for a natural one in the end.
ReplyDeleteI think both are lovely, but it never occurred to me to look for a manmade waterfall.
ReplyDeletemine was natural but I'd count anything where water changes level and I love all instances of moving water
ReplyDeleteI very nearly used the Florida version of that second one! We have very few natural waterfalls close here, so I automatically thought of a manmade one when I saw this on the list
ReplyDeleteI like them both! My own is so small.
ReplyDeleteI thought of a natural one when I saw it on the list and hadn't thought of a man made one until I saw one in town! and then I saw more & more of them.
ReplyDeleteIt is the first kind that I have in mind as well but that I am having trouble encountering :) I might end up with the second one in the end :)
ReplyDeleteI think they both qualify as water falls. I guess with Niagara Falls just an hour away it immediately sprang to mind when I saw waterfall on your list.
ReplyDeleteI like both - moving water is one of my favourite things. Presumed I'd capture a nature or at least natural looking one tho'.
