Look Up//Look Down #29: Sidewalk Lunch

While running errands earlier this week, I had the opportunity to stop by my favorite take-out teriyaki chicken lunch place. I was disappointed to find that it had changed owners, and the food was not nearly as good as it used to be. Sigh.
Fortunately, it did provide me with a good opportunity to take photographs looking up and looking down for the wonderful weekly photography meme sponsored by Helena
Here's hoping you don't experience the disappointment of a favorite restaurant coming under "new ownership" any time soon!

  1. I hate it when that happens! We have a favourite Vietnamese restaurant in the city which we have been going to for nearly 20 years, they changed owners and we were so worried the first time we went .... luckily the chef stayed and all that changed was they went upmarket and decided to start using tablecloths! Still the best Viet in Melbourne!

  3. I know that feeling. Being vegetarians and with a huge lack of choice, when we do find something to suit it rarely lasts more than 2 months before they take it off the shelves :(

  4. love how the red of the bowl echoes the red in the flowers. Always such a disappointment when a favourite food place changes

  9. I hate it when that happens :( But one time I did find that it was just a 'settling in' issue and when I went back it was still different, but just as good.

  11. Our Chinese buffet place changed hands into a Mexican buffet place back in May. It was disconcerting as we had just been there 4 days earlier.

  12. Lovely photos, a shame the lunch wasn't. We recently experienced the same thing and what was even worse was the service had declined so much :/
