While running errands earlier this week, I had the opportunity to stop by my favorite take-out teriyaki chicken lunch place. I was disappointed to find that it had changed owners, and the food was not nearly as good as it used to be. Sigh.
Fortunately, it did provide me with a good opportunity to take photographs looking up and looking down for the wonderful weekly photography meme sponsored by Helena.
Here's hoping you don't experience the disappointment of a favorite restaurant coming under "new ownership" any time soon!
I hate it when that happens! We have a favourite Vietnamese restaurant in the city which we have been going to for nearly 20 years, they changed owners and we were so worried the first time we went .... luckily the chef stayed and all that changed was they went upmarket and decided to start using tablecloths! Still the best Viet in Melbourne!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the culinary disappointment ... But that floral one is delightful! Do yu know what kind of flowers they are?
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling. Being vegetarians and with a huge lack of choice, when we do find something to suit it rarely lasts more than 2 months before they take it off the shelves :(
ReplyDeletelove how the red of the bowl echoes the red in the flowers. Always such a disappointment when a favourite food place changes
ReplyDeleteWe had that experience recently....and were very disappointed in the 'new' food!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours in this pair Rinda. Our favourite restaurant changed chefs...total disaster.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures! Our favorite summer restaurant changed hands over the winter and it's also been a disaster.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos even though you're lunch experience wasn't what you expected.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens :( But one time I did find that it was just a 'settling in' issue and when I went back it was still different, but just as good.
ReplyDeleteShame. Hope it picks up
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Sorry the food tasted disappointing - it certainly looks lovely:)
ReplyDeleteOur Chinese buffet place changed hands into a Mexican buffet place back in May. It was disconcerting as we had just been there 4 days earlier.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, a shame the lunch wasn't. We recently experienced the same thing and what was even worse was the service had declined so much :/
ReplyDeleteIt's not good when that happens! Great photos though.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours and flowers - sorry the food wasn't. Hope you find another favourite :)
ReplyDeleteShame about the food as it actually looks really interesting and tasty. The flowers are adorable and colourful
ReplyDeleteGreat pair Rinda! Oh I hate when that happens - it always seems to be for the worst.
