Faces 1-3: Illustrations

Ayala is sponsoring 29 Faces, a challenge to create 29 faces in any artistic format during February. Here are my first three:

I sketched and painted all three of these on my Ipad, using the Paper 53 app. I'm becoming a little more confident with it. I like this series of faces because they seem like they could be three characters in a book. I've always been fascinated by artists who do illustrations, and I've often thought that my water color blob faces work because they do seem to have so much character.  Do you think these three have a story to tell?

    oh yes I think they have stories - I think the 1st lady is peeking out at the audeince before she takes to the stage; the man is a kind soul with a hiden dream; and the angel has some interesting stories from her student days

    There are definitely stories to tell. I like all three of them, giving Rosa my favorite vote. I like her peeking face. I missed out on the 29 Faces this year.

    I"m fascinated by the process, and absolutely LOVE the first one. Your comment about the stories makes me think of one of my favorite picture books for older kids: The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg. If you don't know it, I think you'd like it.

    Speaking of illustrations, TSYO was retelling a story, with beautiful illustrations, last week, and it was really lovely to hear her interpretations of the pictures even though she knew the story well. The scope is endless isn't it?!

    I dont have an IPad so I'm not familiar with the process, but they sure look good to me, and I like that you have included a little "flash fiction" with each one. :)

    Keep thinking of downloading some apps but figure that's for later this year - I don't need any additional procrastination aids.

    I like all three but love the idea of an Angel in Progress :)
