Faces 1-3: Illustrations
Ayala is sponsoring 29 Faces, a challenge to create 29 faces in any artistic format during February. Here are my first three:
I sketched and painted all three of these on my Ipad, using the Paper 53 app. I'm becoming a little more confident with it. I like this series of faces because they seem like they could be three characters in a book. I've always been fascinated by artists who do illustrations, and I've often thought that my water color blob faces work because they do seem to have so much character. Do you think these three have a story to tell?
oh yes I think they have stories - I think the 1st lady is peeking out at the audeince before she takes to the stage; the man is a kind soul with a hiden dream; and the angel has some interesting stories from her student days
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely stories to tell. I like all three of them, giving Rosa my favorite vote. I like her peeking face. I missed out on the 29 Faces this year.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they have stories to tell. The first especially. I love the heart strings.
ReplyDeleteI love the first one...she seems to be looking just a little perturbed as she peeks out.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are stories to tell there. And I'm amazed that you are drawing these with technology!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting faces with interesting stories. I like Rosa the best.
ReplyDeleteI"m fascinated by the process, and absolutely LOVE the first one. Your comment about the stories makes me think of one of my favorite picture books for older kids: The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg. If you don't know it, I think you'd like it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful drawings Rinda!
ReplyDeleteeach one draws me in ... the hearts on strings are a very special touch as well!
oxo
Definitely have stories and you told them all by your words. Awesome Rinda! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love them all! The 1st one is my favorite, she is adorable!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of illustrations, TSYO was retelling a story, with beautiful illustrations, last week, and it was really lovely to hear her interpretations of the pictures even though she knew the story well. The scope is endless isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteWell, for a start, that dark curly haired chap reminds me of someone round here :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool, Rinda. Yes, I think each of them tells a story, and I do love the little captions you have included on each of them. Love the angel in progress! xo
ReplyDeleteI love the little hanging hearts a very nice touch.
ReplyDeleteI dont have an IPad so I'm not familiar with the process, but they sure look good to me, and I like that you have included a little "flash fiction" with each one. :)
ReplyDeleteI love them, and I'm so glad to see someone else using their ipad! I love the 53 Paper App, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThese are really cool - they could easily be illustrations in a book because there is still room for interpretation.
ReplyDeleteKeep thinking of downloading some apps but figure that's for later this year - I don't need any additional procrastination aids.
ReplyDeleteI like all three but love the idea of an Angel in Progress :)
I really like that first one and I wonder what she's peeking out from behind. Still so amazed that you've done these with an app.
ReplyDeleteThese are just fabulous, Love the first one. I love the narrative on each one.
