My Photographer's Eye

Vignette #5 Sunset Reflection
In my mind, I hear my friend Lynn repeating her famous statement, "I'm not a stay at home mom. I'm a stay in the car mom." Because, once again, I am sitting in the car, waiting to pick up one of my children.  At least I live in a beautiful place, and my photographer's eye spies a lovely sunset.  I snap the photograph, but am surprised when I look at my iphone screen:
The camera lens was tilted lower than I realized, and I have caught a reflection of the sunset in the hood of my car. I marvel that there are times when the camera's eye is better than my original vision.  At least my photographer's eye recognizes a good capture when I see it.  After editing the photograph,  I readjust my stance and capture the sunset I expected in the first place.

    The depth of colour in the second shot is vibrant and warm and really lovely - a good accident if you ask me!

    It is a good accident. I've only just really started using instagram and find the differences between that and my camera fascinating.

    I like the focus on the bonnet of the car - that tells a story all on its own. A story about that stay in the car Mum!

    I'm always amazed how what I see doesn't always show in the capture!! Sunsets always have the habit of changing so much in the short time it takes to grab my camera!! If only we could blink & capture it exactly as we see it!! :D

    Two really great looking pictures Rinda. I really like how the reflection is casting different light on the back of the car in front of you.
