Cards, Cards, Cards!

I occasionally say that I'm going to give up making cards.
But . . . sometimes when painting or art journaling just seems like too much work;
when I don't want to haul out all my scrapping stuff and figure out where my pictures are; when my wrist hurts too much to work on editing images;
but . . .  I still want to create, then it's fun to pull out a stack of patterned paper and make a bunch of cards.
And it's good to have a stash of cards for the important events in life, including the sad times when someone needs a sympathy card:
Thanks to Ali Manning for sponsoring this de-stash challenge which encouraged me to use up some of my patterned paper.  Each of these cards used 3-4 different patterns, and it was fun to get them out of my stash and into my card bin.  And easy. And sometimes that just what an artist needs.  Is there something you turn to when you want to create but are low energy?

  1. Those cards are so stylish I love them. You have made me realise that I ought to make some too when I can't scrap for some reason or other. Thank you Rinda

  3. I love how the Graphic 45 can be used to make such a variety of styles in cards....it really is versatile.
    I tend to go for the easiest option when feeling 'low energy' as well.

  4. What lovely cards - I am ashamed to say that I rarely make cards, yet when I look at what others make I realise that I really should make the effort as a hand crafted card is just so lovely to receive.

  7. Very nice cards, Rinda. I'm with Alison though - since I stopped making all my greetings cards (while I was injured), I have got out of the habit. Now I only make them for "special occasions" and somehow it just feels like a lot of pressure...
    I think that when I'm too tired to scrap or make books, I just like to read blogs and look at the lovely things others have been doing!

  8. These are very nice cards Rinda. I don't do cards because I really don't know how. I like that you have a variety of skills in the artistic field. Nice job. Have a great day.

  9. Hi Rinda, I love making cards. I just started making them about a year ago but I was hooked instantly. My cards used to be one dimensional but thanks to some very creative friends, I now layer (as you did on yours) and I use things like ribbon, flowers and buttons. Your cards are beautiful, I like how you make the images pop out with the background colors. I have a hard time making sympathy cards but I love how yours came out.

  14. Nice cards! Love the papers! When I am low energy I work on granny squares for a blanket I have been crocheting for a couple years. They are fairly mindless so I don't have to think too much but being fairly mindless they don't hold my interest for too long, which is why it's taken me a couple years so far
