10 Cotswold Cottages (10 on the 10th blog giveaway)
I admit to being totally smitten by all the wonderful thatched-roof country cottages and beautiful country manors throughout the Cotswold region. As a result, I took a few lots of pictures. So, to play along with Shimelle's Ten on the Tenth this month, I'm featuring ten Cotswold country cottages. As you enjoy them, think about which one you would want to live in (#1-10).
Did you chose a favorite? If so, leave a comment letting me know which cottage you would like to live in, and I'll enter you into a random drawing for a little package of scrappy ephemera goodness. I'll pick a winner on Sunday, August 7th.
Oh my word I just want to up sticks and move immediately they are all so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteFor me it has to be #3 - I could imagine The Bennett family from Pride and Prejudice living there. I would be at my window eagerly awaiting my Mr Darcy to come striding up the drive!
I'm afraid I wouldn't want to live in a thatched cottage at all....the practicalities would put me off....not to mention all the bugs!!! I do admit they look very pretty though.
ReplyDeleteI think the third one is probably my favourite.
I was immediately attracted to the first one, though Jacky's comments may just have put me off!

No 7 for me - love the neighbourliness of it and those beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with #7 and not mind the bugs (actually don't think you get many) it's more the cost of rethatching and maintenance of them. Still they do look pretty and apparently are more wind resistant than slate or tiles
ReplyDeleteoh, makes me miss home :( lol some beautiful buildings. I love the last one mainly because of the toadstools outside :)
ReplyDeleteI like the one which looks like a chapel, but much as I love admiring photos of Cotswold stone, I'm definitely a red brick girl when it comes to choosing a place to live!
ReplyDeleteI like #6 for all the wide open space surrounding it.
ReplyDeleteI like #2. I like the little peek of the entrance and it looks like it is lovingly cared for.
ReplyDeleteI want to move now.
i like the cottage in photo #2 - it looks small and cozy! you have me imagining how fun it would be to live in one of these, even if it were just for a year. heck, i'd like to just spend the night in one! :-)
ReplyDeleteNumber 7 for me.
ReplyDeleteummm.. Aug 7 was the other day :D and i like your second picture with the door peeking out of the foliage .. but all of the pix are truly charming!

I like #7... the blue door got me!
ReplyDeleteOh I love them all, they are just beautiful. How wonderful if we here in this country had beauty like that. I had to choose number 7 because of the blue doors and how great it would be to have my studio in there . Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh, Rinda, they are all so beautiful. I'm going to say I like #10 best because I love those little toad-stool things along the fence!
ReplyDeleteThese are all just lovely! I think the third one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI think I favour No 3. My husband would never let us buy a thatched cottage as being a surveyor, he knows the problems that kind of roofing can cause!
ReplyDeleteNumber 3 I think - I'd like to Lady of the Manor!
ReplyDeleteThey all look so pretty! I like #6 with all the beautiful rolling hills...
ReplyDeleteI think I like the second one the best ... the front door and entry way look very inviting and friendly.
ReplyDeleteTorn between #2 and #3 but as I may not have a maid I think I'll choose #2. This looks so very, vey different from my part of the world that it seems like a movie set. They are all lovely :)
ReplyDeleteOooh! I pick number 7 because of the blue doors! :)
ReplyDelete(And I think you meant to say you'll pick a winner August 14? :))
Photo number 2...I like the cosiness of it and the secluded door....They are all fabulous...
ReplyDeleteI have friends who live on the border of Oxford and they live in a converted pub..which is gorgeous!
