It's been a while since I've played with PSE - mostly because of my hard drive crash. PSE reloaded in a slightly different format which has confused me. I need to go re-do the Kim Klassen videos and also finish start the Jessica Sprague class I signed up for. In the meantime, I decided to participate in Kim's Textue Tuesday link-up using her free texture "Warm Sun." I started with the following picture of Gypsy:
cropped it, added the texture, then played a bit with the color levels. I think that PSE is definitely a "use it or lose it" skill for me. What about you? Is it second nature or do you need a refresher each time you open it?
I have never used PSE..but it's on my list of things to learn about this year
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
Meant to say that I DO like the 2nd pic best!xx
ReplyDeletenice to see a familliar face in the texture linky. Nice use of the texture
ReplyDeleteI crossed the threshold of remembering how to do things in PSE when I chose it as my medium in creativity bootcamp last year - creating something everyday was the trick
I think Helena's right....you need to use it everyday for awhile...until the basics become second nature. I don't use it enough....and have to re-learn every time!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Gypsy photos.
Hi Rinda, how lovely to see Gypsy on Kim's Texture Tuesday
ReplyDeleteShe looks even more lovely with her Warm Sun texture x
Lovely Rinda I too have to get a grip on the basics of PSE x
ReplyDeleteI'm just excited that I understand layers now....and textures...and blending modes. That's about it, though! I don't want to do anything that reminds me of math, though. ;-) Gypsy is a darling, and your processing works well.
ReplyDeleteThe stuff I use regularly I remember. The little tricks (like how to soften skin) I have to rely on notes or tutorials and go back every time. I can't even remember the code for fully justifying text, but I know there is one!
ReplyDeleteOo your doggie is soo cute!! Soo cute with her little paw!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the texture fits really good to the photo!!
I love photoshop and work with it almost every day...yes I'm a sort of addicted ;)
Wish you lots of fun on your courses and with discovering pse!!
TOTALLY a use it or lose it with me! And I don't really have the time or energy to use it that often!
ReplyDeleteI know next to nothing about using a camera! Sad, but true! What I do know for sure is that Gypsy is so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteOH, this is great. I want to play along too. Hope I find time tomorrow. I think as you use PSE more, parts of it will become second nature. The problem is there is SO MUCH to know. The steps I use to edit most photos are easy for me now, but I'm working on some new skills now that take me quite a while every time I use them.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a use it or lose it type of thing, especially in the beginning, like Karen said though, you will find some things become second nature ... eventually!
ReplyDeletei'm no photographer but, i have to say, i just love gypsy! she makes me smile, just looking at her. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what PSE is, but I know I love both photos of Gypsy. What a cutie, I wanna squeeze her!
ReplyDeleteUse it or lose it! Not that I can actually use it for very much. Yet.
