Paul and I enjoyed mimosas and cracked a few eggs playing egg wars to make egg salad sandwiches for brunch. Then we played Peeps Wars for a while (to play, you put a toothpick in the front of your Peep, square it up in front of your opponent's Peep, place them both in the microwave, and run the microwave until one skewers the other) :
For dinner, I made fideo, which is a Mexican chicken noodle soup and totally yummy. You can find the recipe here.
And we had blueberry bars and Amy's very intriguing balsamic strawberries for dessert:

Those Peeps are too funny - they look like they are something edible??? not available here in Australia but I like the combative photography you have shown here!

I've already clicked on the link for the recipe. Looks yummy! I can't stand Peeps, but your game looks like fun. The Easter Bunny stopped coming here just a few years ago, but when we were talking about him on Sunday, Matt recalled the cash in the eggs as a favorite! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful day. Thirteen of us gathered at my SIL's for a late Easter lunch--way too much food and chocolate cake for Bill's 90th birthday.

I had a lovely Easter Sunday with all my family at my Mum's house (photos and layouts to follow!). Never heard of Peeps before! Looks fun though :D

It sounds to me like you found a useful purpose for Peeps--they certainly don't appeal to me from a candy perspective! The rest of your day sounds wonderful too.

Have never heard of Peeps, but Peeps wars sounds fun! We had a lovely day with our usual egg hunt in the garden.

We had a very enjoyable Easter weekend and Sunday was lovely, with all the family over for lunch and tea. J. had an Easter-Egg hunt, as always, but this year we didn't pretend it was done by the Easter Bunny - we just left the first clue in his cereal bowl (no cereal in it!) and let him go and find the rest (with mini-eggs for prizes as he went along). He had two Lindt Bunnies - one milk, one dark chocolate - which were hidden in the cupboard, along with a box of cat-treats for his favourite friend!
