Just north of where I live, there's a place called Montara Mountain,
Many years ago, there was a nursery on the mountain, which sold daffodils. Although the nursery is long gone, clumps of naturalized daffodils remain in hidden grottos.
On Sunday, some friends and I went for a hike on the mountain in search of daffodils and pretty afternoon light. We found both:
At the end of the day, we headed home, our hearts filled with flowers, friendship and light:
Rinda, this is so beautiful! I love dafoodils and how nice to combine these happy flowers with a trip with friends. It looks like you had a really good time!
ReplyDeleteFriends, flowers and warm weather, I call this a lovely day well spent.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures and the flowers are so pretty. You are so lucky that you can go and pick these pretty flowers with your friends.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great week.
Oh ... now you really tickle my fancy with those sunflare shots - divine, and so suited to daffodil photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to spend an afternoon :-)
Sounds like a wonderful time,Rinda.....what better way to spend an afternoon. Our daffs are just starting to peek through....no flowers yet, just stalks.

ReplyDeleteThese photos are stunning! We are still dreaming of flowers here...maybe in a month we will start getting some blooms.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an absolutely wonderful day. Love these photos. I have daffodils in my garden, which I hope to see very soon.
ReplyDeletenothing says spring like a bunch of daffodils. sounds like a wonderful outing (a "treasure hunt") with friends.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like a treasure hunt to me too - what a cheerful hint of spring on what is a very cold and wet halfterm holiday here. Thank you for that splash of yellow!
ReplyDeleteSome really lovely photos there, Rinda - of what was obviously a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting for our daffs - but we have snowdrops and some early crocuses, which are so pretty.
I remember staying with a friend whose family ran a flower nursery. I was allowed to pick some flowers for my mum - I returned home with armfuls of daffodils, thrilled to be able to give her all those flowers; mortified, she had to explain to me that it was rude to take so many... My friend's dad was so nice about it! But I still remember that huge, huge field, like a giant yellow ocean of flowers - I have never seen so many daffodils all together - it was wonderful!
BEAUTIFUL post with great photos and lovely sentiments. I love this, Rinda! So happy that you had a day like this with friends - what a treat. :o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photography! It's amazing that you're looking for daffodils, while I have several feet of snow over my garden! Thanks for letting me share some of your sunshine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect afternoon! Can't think of anything better, especially sitting here with 17° temperatures! Love, love daffodils--such a ray of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in these photos is just perfect. So much happy, sunny, yellowness! Thanks for inviting a bit of West Coast USA sunshine into a grey miserable UK day.
ReplyDeleteACK - I think blogger ate my comment. :(
ReplyDeleteWas just saying how neat this is and how much I love the shots with the light and flowers! Gorgeous and makes me want to go there!
