Last Call: Pass the (Mail Art) Book

Here's one more page from my art journal featuring letters exchanged during courtship.  It's all about waiting for the mail to arrive and the anticipation of what will be inside each letter.
Also, this is the last call for anyone who wants to get in on the drawing for the Pass the Book selection, "Good Mail Day."  I'll draw the next recipient tomorrow morning (Friday, California time).  For details, go to this post.
When was the last time you anticipated getting something good in the mail?  Do you take a moment to savor your letter or package or do you rip right in to it?

  2. I LOVED waiting for letters from my pen pal growing up. And there's a part of me that is sure I was born at the wrong time, as I would have loved the aspet of writing letters as a part of courtship... happy heart sigh as I imagine it!

PS. No progress on the dog name yet, but I will suggest the shortened verisons of Laramie to my hubby and see where we get...

  4. another fabulous page.

I rip into mail, but if it is a gift for a particular day, like a birthday, then I always keep it until that day, without shaking or squeezing to try to guess the content.

  5. Well, I got a lovely surprise in the mail today - thank you for your beautiful card! It was a really nice surprise and it made my day.

I savour my mail - if it looks especially good it could be a couple of hours before I set down what I'm doing and dive in

  8. Rinda, I'm loving this journal! I've just been looking through all 3 parts that you've posted. What a really super idea to use the letters :-) I still have all The Doctor's letters to me (and he has mine to him) - we met at university so we wrote lots of letters during each of the holidays, and then during the year that he was in Cambridge and I was still in Exeter. And I love getting mail even now, and always take a moment to look at the envelope, try to recognise the handwriting or read the postmark, before I tear it open :-)
