Childhood memories
catching crawdads at the Lake
life's simple pleasures
We're spending a week at Lake Tahoe for our summer vacation. On Sunday, we rented kayaks and paddled over to Crystal Bay in Nevada. The bay is filled with fun boulder formations. In addition to swimming and paddling fun, it's also a great place to fish for crawdads. I love the picture at left because of the boulders, the sky and the natural expression of the kids.
I also really like the next photo of Henry because nature provides such an artistic frame, but he still looks very natural and unposed.
I added a haiku to remind you all about the photo/haiku challenge I wrote about in this post. You still have several days to enter. I hope you'll play along.
This sounds like a great time away Rinda - my haikus are nearly ready, will post soon :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like great fun,Rinda... though I have to admit to a complete ignorance of what crawdads are!
ReplyDeleteYes, tell us about crawdads! We have friends in San Diego who spend a lot of time at Lake Tahoe and they are always telling us how beautiful it is. I have to admit I'm feeling a little envious of your clear skies and bright sunlight today! It looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteEspecially love the photo of your son fishing, and the haiku fits so well. I'm still working on mine (honest!)
ReplyDeleteBut please do tell - what is a crawdad? we certainly don't have them over here - or if we do, we call them something completely different!
great haiku! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, what a wonderful place - wish I was with you! The weather here is awful - pouring with rain, grey skies and not very warm. Love your photos and the haiku is great. I am going to use a few haiku's in my next few layouts - they are great for journalling in a different way.
ReplyDeleteI'm envious. We spent a day and a half at Lake Tahoe with Sarah, Adam, and our niece, Grace, last summer. It was so incredibly beautiful.
