Four People Twelve Times (World Cup Edition)

Some friends came over Saturday to watch the opening game for the US team in the World Cup. The much anticipated match against England ended in a 1-1 tie and will be remembered for British keeper Green letting a ball dribble through his hands for the equalizer.  Our friend Molly was nice enough to snap this picture of the four of us.  I'm learning to love photos that capture the emotion of the day, even if we aren't all looking at the camera.  For an  explanation of the four people twelve times project, you can see my post here.
Here's Molly and another friend Joan:
And the other picture Molly took of us (it doesn't look too bad small, but if you click on it, you'll see that it's pretty blurry and our eyes look funny from the flash):
Informal survey:  which "4 people 12x" pix do you prefer?
P.S. Thanks for all the good thoughts about my art journaling class this morning.  It went well!  It continues for two more Sundays.

  1. A hard choice..I like the last one but I like you looking at the others too. I was thinking about you as we watched it and now I'm sorry I didn't take a photo of the four of us..that would have been nice, wouldn't it?

    Glad the class went well

  2. Both photos are great in their own way! Like Sian said - the first one is nice with you looking at your family but the 2nd has you all smiling together ...... can't decide sorry!! xx

  3. This is such a good project. I like both of these. They both capture your family doing something you love which makes them special. Don't worry about blurry--it's the emotion that matters--and having the photo. Glad to hear your class went well.

  4. They are both great pictures, but I like the first better - I generally prefer the more natural to the "posed" shots.

  7. sounds like a fun time for your family. i like photos that are not "posed" and perfect - informal shots are so much more interesting.

  8. A photo of the 4 of us watching the same match might have shown tears of frustration and much shaking of heads! How could that have happened? Aaarghhh!!!!!
I think I actually quite prefer the pic where everyone isn't looking at the camera.

  9. Not sure I can bring myself to talk about the football! I can talk about the photos though, they're great :-) I think I prefer the second of the two; you and your boy look great in both (and I love how you're looking at your family), but I think it's the second that does your husband and your girl justice xx

  10. They are both such lovely photos of your family - hard to choose!! I do like that in the first one you are looking at your family, but everyone looks so good in the second one, too. Hmmm, I think I prefer the second one :)

  11. I like the second photo Rinda, if you want it for the portrait album, the first one is the one I would scrap :-)

At least you all came out with a draw unlike the absolute wallopping the Aussies endured - all expected though - we are not looking good for this tournament!

  12. I prefer the more candid shots, because they are more revealing in what's really happening and the landscape of the day. :)
