Week in a Life Interrupted for an alternate AJ Page
I've enjoyed sharing my "visual diary" style art journal pages this week, in honor of Ali Edwards' Week in a Life project. But I wanted to take a break from those today and share a different style of art journal page. I prepared this one in response to the prompt: "How would you describe yourself as a child?" My answer: I was many things, but I was definitely self confident, self aware and self possessed. You can click on the image to enlarge it and see more details. The prompt (or catalyst) comes from the terrific site, Creative Therapy. They post a new catalyst every week, and I'm getting confident enough in my art journaling skills to start playing along. Tomorrow: back to regular programming and this weekend look for details on the House Party blog hop.
The handprint detail is one of my favourite aspects to this piece.
ReplyDeleteMy house has not arrived yet ... c'mon Australia Post :-)
I was just reading that prompt yesterday. It's a wonderful challenge site isn't it? I was surprised to see how many of the contibutors said they were very quiet and shy..you've redressed the balance a bit with this wonderful page!
ReplyDeleteRinda, I just love your Art Journalling. It's wonderful to watch it develop its own style - and to see your growing confidence. You produce some fabulous pages, full of colour and texture.
ReplyDeleteThis page is great. I love that you have used your very own, unique, handprints for a page about yourself. The various heart shapes are lovely, along with the orange and yellow colour scheme. It's a happy sort of page; but then, I think you seem to be a happy sort of person!
I have also enjoyed your journalling this week. Too fun!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with this page Maria. The design speaks volumes about a well organized, confident person with many layers. But you have added the details that show a strong feminine side, which in my mind is a difficult balance. It's been quite amazing to watch the growth and strength in your art journey.
ReplyDeleteLove this one,Rinda....a very confident page....great colours....and I love that quote.
ReplyDeleteI periodically visit Creative Therapy, and am glad you've decided to participate. I think your work easily meets or exceeds the standard set on that site. I love all the little details here: the key, the lacy heart and the wonderful photos. I especially like the main quote which I have never read before: so true!
ReplyDeleteI love this page, Rinda! The colors and all the fabulous details. I am always envious of all the great photos you have in your collection. :o)
ReplyDeleteLove all the details! :-) The heart cut-outs over the text, the lacy heart, the key, the sentiment.... Oh, all of it! xx
ReplyDeleteI love your style of art journaling and thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteThis certainly is a fascinating project, your pages are so artistically done. Loving the colours you are using too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic page, I really like the journalling
