A Valentine Card (or two)

I've mentioned before that I'm not that big into Valentine's Day, but I do like making Valentine's cards. Go figure!  Here's one I made with a Stampotique image (Daniel Torrente collection).  It features a collaged heart and a Stampin' Up sentiment.  It's based on a challenge sketch from Sunflowers and Dragonflies and colored with radiant pearls and twinkling H20's.  I made a second, similar card that's a bit more edgy for the challenge at Scrap Weekly in 2010.  You can see that card by visiting this link.

  1. The other card has a "Coraline" kind of feel to it, I think. They're both cool! I really struggle with card making..last year I made a valentines card for the first time in 25 years (I think he liked it).

You asked about what I'm wearing in the photo? The brown leather straps are part of a harness to hold me into the pram!

  2. I like your Valentine card because it doesn't use the traditional colors.

  3. Love both the cards,Rinda....the heart looks great collaged...love your layering!!..and fun to see such untraditional colours.
In answer to your question.... stamps aren't cheap in the UK....but why Stampotique are so expensive I don't know [they are twice the price of the stamps I bought yesterday].....though hardly anyone over here sells them.....and on U.S. sites the postage makes them too expensive....hopefully they'll catch on over here...and then the price will come down maybe.

  4. These stamps have an almost gothic quality to them. Very different to the traditional 'cute' valentine card. I really like them. I'm not a great stamper (am Queen of the smudges!) don't know what I do wrong but I never get a lovely crisp outline like you do. What's the secret?!

  9. Both cards are great - I'm not a big valentine fan, either. If you're creating, you must be feeling better!
