The Joy of a Shimelle Class

I have taken lots of on-line classes with Shimelle, including Journal Your Christmas, I Confess, Learn Something New Everyday, and Blogging for Scrapbookers.  I finished and loved those.  I generally find her classes to be easy to follow and complete.  The only class I've taken with her and not finished is called, "When I Grow Up."  I started it and planned out some art journal pages to complete it.  I even completed a couple pages - including the one in today's post.  I'm not sure when I'll get back to that project, so I hope she reruns it someday as a way to prompt me to complete it.  One Shimelle class I regret missing is "Here, There and Everywhere." I have so many travel photos and travel is such a big part of my life (as is my home) that I think I would have gotten a lot out of it.  I had trouble with the Two Peas registration, so gave up before it even started.  Maybe she'll rerun that one someplace easier for me to access.  In the meantime, Shimelle just posted a new class:  Something from (almost) Nothing.  It starts in March and is only $15.  I'm very tempted to sign up for it.  What about you?  Are you going to take Shimelle's new class?  Have you taken When I Grow Up or Here, There & Everywhere?  I'd love to hear about your experiences.

  1. I didn't take "here, there and everywhere"... forget why, but I'm a Shimelle groupie, so I signed up for the class (I also haven't scrapped for almost a year, so a lot of my stash is "old", I'm hoping this will help me look at it with new eyes, and help me use up lots of it!)

  2. im all signed up for the new shimelle class and have completed here, there and everywhere. it was a g8 class as it looked at where you live now, what things you do routinely etc, then where have you travelled to and where would you like to travel to and included planning a future trip to that place. i really enjoyed it.

  3. I've signed up for SFN! I haven't done WIGU yet, though I have bought it and have all the details printed off - I bought a few of her classes retrospectively and I'm working through them slowly. I've found that doing a class 'live' makes a big difference to my motivation! I'm sure I'll get HT&E at some point but I figured I should actually work through a couple of those I'd already bought first...

  4. I love Shimelle's classes and I'll probably sign up (they're so reasonable), but I'll be gone for 10 days during it. I'm afraid I'll never get back to it. Plus I'm taking another class that started today and lasts for six weeks! Nonetheless, it's hard to pass it.

  5. I'm all signed up too! The first of Shimelle's classes I took was the "Home" one, about 2 months after I started scrapbooking. I haven't done either of the ones you mention; but boy am I glad I took the blogging one :)

  6. The only class I've taken with Shimelle is "Blogging for Scrapbookers" and I loved it. I'm off to sign up for "Something from (almost) Nothing" right now! :o)

  8. I'm in! I love her classes, have done severall now and they have all been so different and yet all so enjoyable. I'm pleased this one seems to be on Shimelle.com again, because I didn't really like the 2peas website.

  9. I did "Blogging for Scrapbookers" and it was great fun. My blog is still going strong.. so a great success.
I also did Learn Something New... but the "Every Day" became a big problem mid-September, when my mum went into hospital and life got too busy. I don't know why I thought I would do a course then - September to December is always chaos here.
Tempted by this one... very very tempted. But time is a consideration again and I don't know if I have time for this, as well as the other targets I'm trying to meet. I think I'll probably miss it, but I'm sad about that. Couldn't there be 48 hours in a day for a couple of weeks?
    Sigh...

  10. I've taken Blogging for Scrapbookers, Journal Your Christmas (twice) and There's No Place Like Home. I loved each and every one of them. I technically haven't "finished" any one of them, but I have completed enough of them to have learned something, enjoyed them and felt I've got my money's worth.

I saw her new class post and am wondering about taking it. I'm going back and forth, yes, no, yes no. But then I realized that it's only $15 and if I only get a few tiny things out of it that helps me actually use the ridiculous amount of product I already owned, then it's worth it.

  11. My first and only (so far) was Blogging for Scrapbookers. I loved the community there and am seriously considering this new class.

  12. I haven't taken the classes you mention....but have loved the ones I have taken.I really shouldn't be taking this class,as I've just signed up for 2 other classes....and find it hard enough to keep up with one!!!!! But I couldn't resist....as I have far too much stash.....and would love new ideas for using it...and Shimelle's classes are so brilliant.

  15. Who's that cute boy in the white shirt? LOL! Hi Rinda! I love your Alice challenge. Cynthia is really into Alice right now. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Tell Henry that Cristina is practically running now!

  16. I've taken several of Shimelle's clases, this new one sounds interesting but I scrap digitally so my stash is perpetual & I reuse lots of the basics now. I'm dithering though
