It's a very relaxing weekend around here, and I've seized the opportunity to do some creating. Today, I made three art journal pages, finishing up the "dry" art journal I began for Kelly Kilmer's class. This page started as a page about Easter, but somehow morphed into one about how my style is influenced by vintage elements. I like the colors and variety of elements. The focal image is one of my favorite heritage photos - that's Paul's grandmother sitting in an ostrich cart in Griffith Park, California.
It's a rainy weekend, and I've been watching a lot of television. Our cable provider has a "free" weekend for many premium channels and I watched the entire first season of Homeland! I really liked it, but they aren't showing season 2. And, tonight, Paul and I are engaging in our annual viewing of The Ten Commandments. I may not be able to stay up until Moses gets the tablets, but I think I will make it through the parting of the Red Sea.
Do you watch any special shows for Easter?

Happy Easter Rinda, Love the page and such a great photo
My Easter ritual is to try and get up before the sun peeps out over the houses and then I Praise the Lord that He is Risen.
I've never heard of an ostrich cart - what a fascinating photo! Your colours and love of vintage is perfect for it ... Sending you all warm good wishes, and hoping there is rest and enjoyment in it all for you. We don't watch anything special, but there are some things I like to think about and give thanks for :).
What a very interesting looking page. I've never heard of an Ostrich cart, what a treasure to have that picture.
Happy Easter to you and your family.
Happy Easter,Rinda....love the page.
Easter Tea [and its preparation] takes up most of our day....but I expect we'll settle down to catch up on Chicago Fire tonight.
We've got free HBO this weekend & DH wanted to watch the Game of Thrones marathon as we've never seen it but then he checked how much HBO cost and decided he didn't want to get interested in something he was unwilling to pay for. :)
Just the words 'ostrich cart' grabbed my attention! Never ever seen or heard of one of those before. I'm a Homeland fan too! My husband watched season 2 before I discovered it and then we watched season 1 on DVD.
I can't wait to season 2!
I was admiring your page and vintage photo. Homeland is great isn't it. We've had season 2 here and are awaiting season 3 now. Maybe you can get it on box set! x
Another one who had never heard of an ostrich cart...love your page, and hope you have had a good weekend
Alison xx
I like the color & variety in your page Rinda.
Happy Easter!!
Love this journal page & i'm another wher the words 'Ostritch Cart' just grabbed me in!! Happy Easter to you & yours & 'no' we don't have any regular Easter TV viewing here!! :D
This is a beautiful page, Rinda! We've been watching Downton Abbey while we've been visiting Sarah and Adam. We hadn't seen any of it, but have now finished all of season 1 and are into season 2. I think we'll see at least one more episode tonight.
Wonderful collage page!
Homeland is quite a spell binding drama series!
I realize I watch way more TV than I used to ... so many great offerings out there!
