Abstract Patterns in Nature

While on a recent photo walk for the online "Ode to Nature" class, I took a variety of photos that I knew I would use to create abstract paintings, focused on color and shape.  Here are four images which I put together into my first ever photo collage. I used picmonkey, which has to be the easiest photo editing software ever.  And it's free! I owe a hat tip to Shimelle's Learn Something New Everyday class, as well. Her prompt for today was to actually learn a new skill, and I chose to learn how to make a photo collage. It took all of five minutes, and I'm pretty darn happy with myself.  I think you're going to be seeing a lot more collages from me in the future!
How about you? Have you learned any new skills lately? Do you know of any other collage making tools that are super easy? If so, I'd love to check them out.

Picasa is great (and free!) very easy to use. Still trying to find a new skill to learn! Your pictures are great and make a lovely collage.

I was going to say Picasa but Debs beat me to it.
Love your collage and all the texture in these photos.
My new skill, sort of is using my distress inks better.

Picmonkey is the one I'm seeing people talk about right now. It sounds like even I could use it..

It's a great way to group your nature pictures together

I tend to use digital scrapbooking templates, but after this review I'll be checking our pic monkey. Lovely shots; you live in such a beautiful place!

I really love collages and use them a lot. I use Collage It for mac and like Karen I like to use a template some times. I love the colours in your first collage Rinda and yes you live in such a beautiful place.

I use Picasa too (it's particularly good for resizing batches of photos in one go, but also creates collages) but it looks like picmonkey might be more flexible for collages so I shall have to check it out :)

The new 'skill' I had a go at was the washi tape animals that I found via your earlier post! So thank you for that link! x

I tend to make collages in PSE, I also used a mac only tool that no longer works after my upgrade :sigh: I'll have to look at picmonkey - I remember it being talked about when another bit the dust.

I also use Picassa for collages because it is so easy and they have different designs you can use.

It's gorgeous Rinda and I must say I like the colours. :). Thanks for the link to picmonkey I'll have to check it out as I can't use picasa anymore for photos as I use it to organize my digi supplies.
