Hello and welcome to the mid-summer link-up party for the 2012 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt!!! If you're participating in the scavenger hunt, I encourage you to create a blog post today about your experience. You can blog about your favorite find, a funny experience you had during the hunt, the reason you haven't been able to start yet or anything really. Here's my post for today.
Finally, a clothesline of my own.
Long time followers of my blog will know that I have a "thing" for clotheslines. You can read about my obsession in this post. So, it was an easy thing to include on the scavenger hunt list this year.
But, in my entire life, I have never actually used a clothesline! Until this summer, in Barcelona. When I needed just a few more days of clothes. So I washed a small load and hung it out to dry. And I took this photograph, which I love:
So, that's my post for today's link-up. Now it's your turn.
After you create your post, add it to the linky below. Then go visit some of the other participants to see what they have been up to. It would also be great if you mentioned this link-up party in your post, so others will come visit.
Edited to add: my good friend, Cheri, was a little late to the party and the Linky closed. But you can see her terrific photographs by clicking on this link!

I find it so hard to believe that you have never used a clothesline out there in sunny California! They are certainly used all the time down here and are almost iconic ... hey, another reason for you to visit!
Thanks for organising such a fun scavenger hunt Rinda - we loved it!
This one will be the hardest for me to find :) We used them when we were kids growing up on the farm, but you don't see them so more! Wonderful shots Rinda :)
I am hoping to get some more shots this weekend and next. Thanks Rinda so much for organizing this! I am having lots of fun :)
I love washing dried on a line. I can't believe you have never used one before now!
I'm loving this scavenger hunt, Rinda. It is a great list and I am working my way through it with much fun on the way. Thank you for organising it!
thanks for opening this early for us eager people down under. Loving your clothesline, always love seeing these hanging over the street below. Thanks for organising such a fun thing to do, we are having fun during our winter finding these items
A perfect clothesline! I'd love to link up but am in Amsterdam at present, without the facilities to edit my photos. I think I've found everything on my trip tho'. I had only found a 'bride' made of marzipan until yesterday when we passed by a church where THREE girls were getting married. It's fun!
Your clothelines are wonderful, Rinda. Coming from a European country, I am used to line dry my laundry. I still don't have a clothesline here at the new house because I have to figure out what to do with our garden first, but I have a nifty clothes stand that I brought from Germany and use regularly. I love the smell of clothes dried in fresh air.
I can't imagine not having a clothes line....I love it when my washing can dry out in the fresh air.
It has always amazed me on my trips to the USA,that NO-ONE ever seems to have a clothesline! So glad you got the chance to use one...and the apartment looks as though it was in a nice area! Thanks again for organising this
Hugs
Alison xx
So, have I got this right - you have wall to wall sunshine in the US but you don't dry your washing outside?!!! Unbelievable! Looking forward to checking out the links today - and once again, thank you so much for organising!
Love your pics of the clothesline. It's one I have still to tick off!
I'm so glad I found you, having great fun taking part.
thanks, Liz x
We'd be hanging our washing out here a lot more often if it didn't rain all the time!
Thanks for the link party and the rest - excellent fun all round! And caome back soon so we can take more pictures together
I can't imagine not seeing washing on the line, thanks for organising this I'm really enjoying it.
Wow - I love getting the washing out in the sunshine, not taht it's been very sunny of late but it's such a fresh smell when it dries...
Have joined in and hope to get round everyone later tonight...

I'm completely amazed that you don't dry your washing on a line! I hang mine out whenever possible. In the last few days I've been running out to rescue it quite often!
Thanks for hosting the party and having the idea in the first place :o)
We always hung our clothes out to dry when I was growing up. In our current yard, finding a good spot has been difficult so I almost never do it any more. I do miss the fresh smell that comes with drying outside. Love your photos, and thanks again for such a fun scavenger hunt.
I've never had a real clothesline. I created one on our deck to hangup towels & bathing suits but I don't like where it is as it blocks my view of the yard. And it's too small for anything but a few towels at a time. I prefer dryers anyway. I have allergies & the thought of putting on clothes with pollen on them gives me the hives
I'm planning on getting my clothes line photo tomorrow when I visit my mum. We're having such fun with this, my post with the photos so far will be up soon!
It's been years since I've used a clothesline (like 30+ years!). I haven't found one for this year's hunt yet, but I'm optimistic. I posted four finds today & have linked up, so I'm off to check out everyone else's finds. Thanks for hosting the party, Rinda!
I always dry my washing outside if I can - this year has been a lot of dodging showers. When I lived in the USA I put up a washing line to dry my clothes and started a trend, soon all my neighbours had washing lines!
Thanks for the scavenger hunt I am really enjoying it.
A lovely idea to have a link-up. Made me change my blogging plans and share some more photos! I'm another who loves their washing line. In fact I've never used anything else. :-)
The clothesline, I fear, will probably be the most difficult photo for me to secure. But no worries for I have enjoyed this journey immensely.
I just posted my photos on my blog. I will now link my site to your linking party.
I am so enjoying looking at everyone's photo entries.
Thanks Rinda for hosting this event.
Hi Rinda ~ I'm finally getting online for a few minutes this morning. Thanks so much for linking up for me. I just modified my post to mention the link-up party. Look at all those lovely links! I can't wait to get home tomorrow afternoon and have time to look at them all.
The photos of the clothesline are awesome! Well done!
{{{hugs to you}}}
Love your clothes line photos. ~I much prefer towels when dried outside as they are scrubby.
I've only done two far as I am waiting until we go away but have linked those.
Hi Rinda,
Link to my site is broken. Sent you an email but just in case it doesn't get to you I wanted to post it here. I tried to repost the link but software would not allow duplicate entries. Help?
Wondered why I hadn't seen a clothesline over here but your tumble dryers are so much quicker than ours :0)
I used to have to hang everything growing up. Hanging up and taking down clothes became a hated chore. Once we could afford a dryer, I never looked back. Although I do like hanging up wet beach towels and suits before they go in the wash!
How neat that you got to use a clothesline. We used to have them all the time when I was growing up but then some people decided they were an eyesore and passed ordinances that you couldn't have them (aside from on farms) Thankfully that law is gone but it seems people haven't started using them again. I'm in luck though - my friend's daughter has one and we're just waiting for a non-rainy day when I'm over there to get a picture.
